Greetings all. My name is Kermit (yes, really), playing a vulcan tactical VA named Solan. Sorry, but I've never quite figured out the cryptic global tags, so I'll update my in-game contact when I figure that out.
With the recent push towards fleets with update 6, I find myself vaguely curious as to what a fleet experience will be like. Sounds like bolstering fleet rosters is also on the mind of many fleets, and I'm willing to give it a shot.
But I take my commitments very seriously in any MMO, and so I've been holding off a variety of fleet invites while I figure out exactly what I'm looking for, and exactly what I can afford to offer. I've spent some time bouncing around this forum checking out various fleets, many of which offer *some* of what I'm interested it, but it's hard to tell sometimes how they might feel about my own contributions, and hard to tell if there might not be...little details...that their recruiting posters may be missing
My advantages...
I'm a subscriber playing a VA tactical vulcan officer - I haven't really bothered to build up any other characters at the moment...my ships are reasonably well equipped, but I suppose there's always room for improvement
I have a reasonably wide variety of MMO experience, including leading grouping efforts
I maintain a reasonably high standard of personal conduct - I value professionalism, calm, rational behavior, and drama-free responses whenever possible (although, even *I* slip from time to time, I'll admit)
My limitations...
I have very little time to devote to STO - while I enjoy certain aspects of the game, I'm already rather active in LOTRO, and STO is more a flashy/shiney distraction that appeals to but rarely satisfies my Trekkie background
**edited**I forgot to mention earlier, I'm US west coast, and tend to play late nights and weekends, so my regular play times are around 11pm to 3am PST M-F, and a little more flexible on weekends
I would very much like a certain degree of RP immersion - I don't need hard core RP 24/7,l but I find I enjoy the game much more often when the community I'm playing with (read my fellow fleetmates) generally operate from a point of RP-trek-lore appropriate position first, and more real-world casual behavior 2nd (but not never)
because of my above limitations, the resources I can offer to fleet building are admittedly limited - I'm not greedy, but I'm also not particularly profitable - still, I have no fear of contributing, and of sacrificing a certain amount of my admittedly limited playtime helping build up the fleet
anyone that looks at the above features and thinks I might find a good fit with your fleet, I'd love to hear from you - I've got my eye on several fleets that *sound* close, but I'm willing to entertain any convincing argument
thanks for your time - good hunting to all of you!
There is no correct resolution; it's a test of character.
