Test Weekend Feedback

arbrielfamilyarbrielfamily Member Posts: 28 Arc User
I for one thoroughly enjoyed combatting the Tholians on Nukara Prime and am looking forward to when this moves over to Holodeck Shard.

I only managed to try out the KDF fleet starbase over the test weekend and that blew me away, I wonder what the Federation version will do post release of Season 6.

Excellent work Cryptic keep building upon this and STO will expand its player base even more in my opinion.

I am also enjoying the new content as well. However I'm finding that earning omega marks right now to be challenging. I like the system in place for earning romulan marks. They can be earned without having to go into battles with other players. Kinda like in the deferi zone. My suggestion would be to allow a way to earn omega marks the same way in the borg zone. I'm also a little puzzled by the greyed out store tab in the reputations. And finally please...please...please...bring back the players tab in the PvE queue screen. It's VERY annoying not knowing how many people are queued for an event. Thanks.

I like what ive seen of the new content.

I do NOT like the stealth nerf to all the skills that lower targets damage resistance. Attack patterns beta and delta, fire on my mark, sensor scan, disruptor proc, all nerfed by 25%!

Too much talking on New Romulus.

    It's as bad as SWTOR.

I usually keep both these games windowed so i can leave and come back after the blah, blah.

    As always, less is more.

Also, give Dilithium awards for ALL missions please since Season 7 "The Dilithium Sink" is just that.

While I like that we can now see the quality level of our bridge officers, having the commbadges tinted bothers me. Fedside, I liked the contrast and consistency of basic black arrowhead plus department color. Now my mild nerdly OCD is pinging and some of the color combos (Tac BO of Green quality) are not pleasing to my eye.

Would coloring only the category on the paperdoll screen (e.g. "Starfleet Engineering Bridge Officer"), as it is now, suffice?

Another sore spot I'm finding is that in stfs, if you complete the optional, there are no longer any extras. So a lot of us playing are wondering what is the point in getting the optional now? You don't get anything for it.

Found it fun with the new pve's i have played a couple of them mostly romalan related.

a few things that i noticed was the thorain wed weavers were a bit hard to click on to target maybe make them a little bigger or slow movement down a little (i had my zoom as close as possible to them.) It could be that the turn rate on the Dregnought cruiser that i used was poor to react to their movement.

To end on a good note the romulan mark rewards worked perfectly and i am looking forward to it going live on holedeck. keep up the good work!!!

You need to get the optional on ALL STFs for the highest level of Ground Gear.

While doing the new Romulan daily mission, I encountered a issue with the Galorndon Core mission. All of the enemies had been defeated, and the Gekli were at the portal back to fluidic space. Then the Gekli just sat there and did nothing, it took them almost a full 2-3 min before they realized "Oh, hey! We can go home through here!" and let me complete the mission.

The new system for season 7 is that completing the optional objectives gets you extra Omega Marks.

I found the new areas add a different dimension to the game. Glad it's not just a rehash of the same old, just new faces sending you on recycled missions. The reputation sytem adds something new to consider and pursue. Love that the game is constantly evolving.

A few minor hiccups that I noticed...

My 1st visit to the Acamar system failed to trigger a mission, simply got the wrap up dialogue from my 2nd right away.

Some new Romulus fedex (collect/observe) missions (mainly Paehhos Crater so far) failed to register (no %s).

Otherwise glad to have had an early peek at the new sector. :)

for one thing i know u ppl are going to comment on my post here saying noob this and noob that but this being my first mmorg test, i like the fact that the stf system has changed it make it more fair at the end of the round that everyone gets the prizeand instead of a rolled luck chance gets you an edc or a rare borg tech peice. i like the change, but there is one thing that needs to change is the reputation system most ppl on here who played stfs in the past have had the ability to get the weapons or equipment after they received the edc's' at the end of the round now the reputaion system takes longer than the fleet objectives, eg... it takes 20 hours to get the fleet projects done but it takes almost 2 days to get the reputation projects done see my boggle if ppl want to level up their gear they have a long wait to get it done, might as well join a fleet to get projects done

Even though the PVE menu has a good layout, its graphic icons make the list so much longer than it needs to be onmy screen. It seems very console-y.

I agree. Some of the color palette changes are not for the better.

I just realized. We are posting in the WRONG thread. The original poster above is talking about Season 6 and not Seven 7 test weekend.

Agreed: this really looks bad. Besides, we are (well, most of us) big boys and girls and, if we really want to go and look at the BOff qualities, we can do so right now. If this is so others can see the BOff qualities as a sort of vanity thing, it's even worse - 'couldn't care less if another player is impressed by my away team members, ship, title, or what-have you.

It is also inconsistent: two of my active BOffs are actually "rare" quality, but one is shown purple with this change and the other isn't.

This is an unnecessary and, in my opinion, very undesirable visual - there could seriously have already been a lot more time invested in fixing extant bugs in the New Romulus patrols and other missions than doing something like this.

In short, some good stuff in here so far, but with certain things, I'd say leave well enough alone.

Two things I found which stood out for me:

    - First off, it isn't clear that one can set up a default shuttlecraft. You should not magically assume that, after three years of STO, people who have forever selected one ship to make that leap of logic, that they can and should select two. You have trained us to believe that only one thing on that screen can be selected at any one time.

What should happen is you should receive an on-screen prompt after the first time you visit the ship selector and you _didn't_ set a default shuttle, it should present a confirmation screen asking 'Are you sure? You haven't set up your default shuttle. Click on a shuttle then click 'Ready'.. this will not deselect your chosen vessel.'

    - I forget the name of this daily mission on New Romulus, the place starts with A, but I enjoyed all the varied tasks.. up until 40% completion. It especially became grating once I had stamped out so many insects and tagged so many critters and wondered why all these radiation and water samples weren't counting to my total... well, I figured out at about 90% that I need to hand them in. 'Not so bad. Lesson learned, right? I'll save these for next time.'

    They magically disappear.

If you don't hand them in when you complete the main mission, they are gone. That is exceedingly frustrating. These items, especially since (I imagine) they're non-tradeable, non-collectable outside of the main overarching mission, should stay in your inventory until you get rid of them by trashing them or handing them in to the appropriate NPC the next time the mission is available. I also could not tell, at any point, what these items were worth to the percentage that adds up to mission completion. That needs to be made clear, _especially_ if you choose to continue with having the items go 'poof'.

This was on the Fed side, i hope it isn't any worse on the KDF side.

Pheben System, to place the satelites i had to come to a full stop, slightest movement interupted satelite placement.

On the Patrol Daily mission Patrol Missions on most maps including but not limited to Beta Lankal, Nerendra, Galorndon Core, and Gama Eridon MVAM sections don't join the fight, i found this to only effect the Multivector assualt modes on the Advanced Multi vector escorts and assume a normal mve with the console slotted has the same problem. suacer sections from the Galaxy-R and the Oddesey classes function as normal.

Mvam Sections Alpha,Gamma, Beta will float around and draw aggro but notr do any firing.

Also during combat i have to tab a target even after i am allready firing on it. This occured with and without the auto target and target nearest/most agreesive target options set.

    otherwise Season 7 is promissing.

I liked all i saw. The one problem i found was that on New Romulus, it seemed a little lagy/choppy. I came on when there was alot of people, and when there wern't hardly anyone. In both cases it was the same. I hope this helps, and i hope i put it in the right spot for you to get. Thank you for all you have done. And looking forward to see what you come up with next.

I am enjoying the ground red alerts and would like to see that spread to other planets.

Is there any chance that we can get some new STF's which are based on this sector?

I really enjoyed New Romulus!. Played around on it Saturday and Sunday...lots to see and do. A heads up about the Tholians by the Hwgel Ruins and the romulans by Vastam Peaks would have been nice, though. Haven't done the STF's yet, hope they are as good. Just bought a gold membership when i logged off tribble today. Keep up the good work! Saw a new post about Q and the winter rewards, and some hints about Seasons 8 and 9. Think I will start saving my pennies...I should have enough for a lifetime subscription by the time Season 8 rolls around. Thanks again...can't wait till Season 7 is in full swing!
