Heavy Escort Carrier and Science Officers Own S6

starcommando101starcommando101 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I believe that in S6 Heavy Escort Carriers with the ability to launch thier torp spread will own S6 in space. Mainly because of the massive battles like Starbase Defense and No Win. Weaken thier shields just a little and launch those bad boys at a bunch of ships in your area.

Science officers will be a MUST in No Win with the ability to push away enemies attacking the vessel. There Crowd Control will be awesome in here as well.

What do you guys think?

wont work that well in either. true you can weaken them then use it, but starbase defense will have multiple groups and wont wait 3 minutes for you to recharge. for No win, you can move enemy ships away from the cargo but you still have to keep it healed and kill the bio-neural warheads asap. use the torp point defense will only help 1 time in wave 4-5 so have to make it count when you do use it, buy mostly will just end up having the cargo vessel explode

Not the Armitage but AoE torp, beam, cannon is king for the upcoming changes but yes the TPDS is awesome for the new Fleet Actions.

Regarding Sci-Officers are already awesome but what you trying to tell is not the Cpt. but Sci-Vessel anyone can fly those.

And i disagree with TBR for no win it just kills the option to AoE and makes it just harder.
If AoE CC then only GW and TR those two are alrrady awesoem and far superior when it comes to AoE damage support them then TBR and PSW that just throws enemys away scattering those in the process.

Actually, I'd say any craft with at least a Lt. Comm Sci station would be wanted, since you can toss tractor beam/heals on the lower lvls to aid a gravity well I. And tbh, it would also just take a nice mix of eject plasma + vent theta to create a nice defensive ring to slow down the enemy. So while it's nice to see my science vessels actually be somewhat needed, they won't do anything that ships like the MVAE can't do better. Grav Well I + insane dps trumps a sci's CC any day of the week, unfortunately.

Tanking cruisers are also going to get really vital too tbh. Having a ship that can actually drag in and survive large groups of enemies wailing away is going to be really handy as well. Right now much of what cruisers bring just goes to waste becuase there's only a handful of situations where anything needs tanking. Being able to burn down the generators, transformers, and gates is far more important. With the new stuff keeping the oncoming hordes from being free to DPS the squishies just got a lot more important.

Too bad science doesn't have warp plasma, that's an engineering skill. Oh, and you can just spend EC on a vent theta box, as it's affected by the same skills and shares the cooldown...only it's a console, not taking up skillbar space. And again, this just makes the MVAE and Odyssey's more useful, since they get a Lt. Comm Science station...not necessarily science ships in general. So no, science is not getting a "buff" from this, it's just making other hybrid ships more valuable.
