That trailer was something made entirely by Atari from my understanding. When it was released, everyone I knew on the STO team was confused and annoyed at how unrepresentative it was (showing ships bombarding planets, etc.)
No offense Taco , but none of the recent promotional material is any different , as at least 50% of each one show things that are not in game as represented by the trailers .
If anything , one could say that the misrepresentation of things in game started with Atari and continued through out the STO game trailers down the years .

So what are your thoughts on the new trailer that shows bridge travel?
Let me get this straight: tumerboy says the team is "confused and annoyed" by a trailer that features things that arent really in the game, so they make a brand new trailer that starts with bridge travel which isnt in the game? Gotta love double standards
Bridge travel in trailers has happened before... and was in the game.. as a cutscene...
At any rate, I've been waiting for some kind of KDF boost, and I think frankly Fleets should be it. If KDF starts 20 of 50 levels, then start our Starbases at Tier 1 or 2 across the board as well. And don't stop there.
So long as the population rests at below 30%, design with KDF in mind. Meaning: Release content to KDF first, not second. Heck, use that smaller population to hammer out bugs before things hit Fed side. Too much content has been released Fed-first for the needle to move over to a more balanced game, and now that we see a more simultaneous design and release schedule, its still too little too late.
And it doesn't have to be too much... For every episodic story arc released, put in one additional option or side mission only available to Marauding Klingons. Rescue the planet, route the invaders? Great, then the UFP can beam down medical supplies and finish, while the KDF chases after and destroys the fleeing cowards, perhaps uncovering a unique piece of the mission's story, or painting the mission story in a different light.
If KDF is truly intended to be an unlockable faction, so be it. But then treat it like an endgame content pack, not an even faction. Make more endgame for KDF than Fed. Apply leveling bonuses for KDF, and reduce KDF c-store prices. Give KDF clear advantages in endgame content, make it worth our while to unlock and play. Make the limited population the point, not the problem. Heck, make it Subscriber-only for all I care, and call it a bonus (in addition to the above), but don't parade it around as a 2-faction game unless you intend S7 to be the be-all-end-all release of a ful-on-expansion sized KDF booster, free to current players, 2000 zen for incoming f2p (or something).
No game has perfectly balanced factions, but 20% and less is simply not a matter of our desires and tastes, its your lack of content.

I just wanted to add that 'PVP-centric' does not excuse this, does it?
February 2nd, 2010 - GAME LAUNCH
-The Klingon Empire has no storyline PvE missions - only some "Empire Defense" space PvE madlibs.
- No Joined Trill. Despite the fact that people paid money specifically for them and were told that they would be useable in the KDF faction.
- No personal armor visuals. All Starfleet personal armor has visuals.
- No kit visuals. All Starfleet kits have visuals.
- No Tricorders. All Starfleet personnel have Tricorders.
- No ship customization. All Starfleet ships have at least 3 customization options.
- No buff pets. Starfleet has Tribbles.
- No crafting. All Starfleet characters can craft and they have an entire planet dedicated to crafting (Memory Alpha).
- The KDF "TOS uniform" consists only of the male shirt, which only males can wear. No pants, no female uniform.
- Only 7 races to Starfleet's 14. Of those, 2 aren't available as bridge officers, and 3 are available as male only.
- Computer combat audio and transporter visuals are the Starfleet ones, not KDF.

!!!
You'd think, given the trailers, that EVE would have the best dogfighting and action in a space simulator too.
You'd think, right?
So what are your thoughts on the new trailer that shows bridge travel?
Great question. I'd like to know the answer too!
