this has probably been asked but how do i increase my console level? my tactical console is a Lt. commander but i cant add high yield torps to my hot bar. it says cannot use this ability with this lv. station.

Bridge stations are one of the main ways the game distinguishes ships' capabilities. The only way to get a higher level bridge station is to get a different ship. Unless the ship is a higher tier, that usually means trading a different station for it, though.

Press U to get your ship/bridge officer list, then switch to the Stations tab. You can see the boffs you have assigned to your ship. Each one's station has highlighted powers showing which powers they can use. You can promote them past their station's level, and they can use all their powers on the ground, but the ship's limits prevent them from using all their space powers.
