Lock Box Ships Getting Update?

kanecabalkanecabal Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Hey guys,

here is a tweet by CaptainGeko:
Looking at updating the lock box ships do they ate competitive with the new fleet ships.

What do you guys think? Are the ships inside the lock boxes, including old ones like the Jem'Hadar Ship, getting an update?

As I own two of them I wont look a gift targ in the mouth. Not sure it was required. I always thought they were a touch better than the normal tier 5's but i guess they want them to stay top of the line.

True, but why are they getting updated. It more gives the reason to update the C-Store ships like the carrier etc. Why only lock box ships? I remember CaptainGecko saying "If we change the values of one ship, we would have to change other properties of other ships and it just creates a mess later."

they need them to be slightly better then the "Best" ships, which in season 6 will be fleet ships

This is so people will keep buying master keys to open future lockboxes

as I said before, if they don't buff them, then people are less likely to spend $ on keys when they can just fly a fleet ship.

Like to think it was a responce to my tweet to him about the jem ship being brought up to be competitive against the new fleet ship specs. I.e adding DEM3 to the jem ship which helps buff it a bit but not overpower it and is cannon for the increased shield pen their weapons (polarons) did during the war.

sure the lockbox ships are certainly in need of an update. Not like they are better then all other ships. We should tone down the C-store ships a bit, why not remove T5 completely....WTF?!?

that would be a truly epic addition to the "what are they smoking" section. How about splitting a ship into 4 parts and put those in lockboxes

well on tribble the excelsior now has more hitpoints then the odyssey, surly that was done due to there being no fleet version.

these fleet ships arent THAT much better then non fleet ships. the 10th console is nice, but the increases in hitpoints and shield mod are never any more then 10%, and aside from some interesting station setups on only a few ships, there really isn't all that much there worth grinding for. unless one of your favorites is now tier 5 for the first time.

im glad the fleet ships arent over the top powerful though. the lock box ships are completely fine as is, they are already the best ships of their type.

What? You mean there's actually someone out there who opens lockboxes?

Lockboxes are a disease that need to be eradicated. Think of them floating through space as ... mines... to be avoided at all costs.

the jem hadar should get 5 tactical consoles just like the defiant R, either that or nerf the new fleet Defiant.

If they update them I hope they'll fix the interiors. For instance the Ferengi shuttle, which we have seen the interior of on screen, is currently a standard federation shuttle interior.

The interaction zones for the mail and bank consoles on the D'Kora are seriously misaligned. And it should really have the option to use the multiphasic shields as well. They managed to make that technology work a long time before on TNG so it is reasonable that large ships could use them by now.

While you're at it you should make the Jem'Hadar set bound on pickup only, and not unique & bind on pickup.

I honestly can't say if you are joking or you mean seriously, bug is the most OP ship there is it sacrifice nothing for its turn rate like Bird of preys does in turn of hull and tac slots and it universial bridge station means you can set it up like fleet escort. It is pretty much the reasone that escorts got buffed up so they could at least compete against it.

Which is kinda crazy as the Excelsior is an old and small ship while the Odyssey is a modern state-of-the-art gigantic behemoth of a starship.

Even stranger considering the proportions of the Odyssey suggest a much larger vessel than the model ingame. For instance the Galaxy is wider than the Ody. It should be the other way around...

This is pretty interesting. Does it suggest that these ships will -always- be upgraded to be comparable to the best ships available?

In that case, they're a very good purchase (for EC at least).

What about the cstore ships some of us paid good money to purchase? Why do they not qualify for a once-over buffing to keep them competitive?

I have to agree completely its the same as the lock box ships the C store ships should get a buff as well to bring them to the same level if not i little bit above than the rest
