As far as I know, equipping the AMS console on the Gal-R or Odyssey enables AMS as an ability for the saucer. This means that AMS can be triggered despite the player not actively using it.
Now we had a match where the other team claimed getting AMSed despite non of our players having the console equipped. Checking into it, we found that one of our players had the console on one of his other ships equipped.
Is AMS already being enabled for the saucer if the console is equipped on any ship of a player even if it is not his currently active ship?
How is the code working? Is STO checking all ships of a player for the console? Or only the currently active ship? Dev confirmation would be really helpful.
Isn't it available on the science version saucer even if you don't have the console equipped?

That is an interesting piece of coding if its that bad.... the idea of pets getting p2w abilities is a bad idea anyway.... wait hold on...
Perhaps they could work the code so they could sell our pets accessories, I think Hello kitty has something like that. I want to dress my pets up to perhaps some Pet skins could hit the Cstore soon. (sorry had to put it out there in the unlikely event that a dev does show up)
Seriously though just admit that one of your team mates forgot to unequip the dumb thing and one of his hax macros set it off. Then there ya go all good. I run an hide now.

PRIVATE MATCH???
TRIBBLE, if I was going through the c-store and was looking at the ship with the console, do you suppose my pet may have ninja-acquired it without my knowledge? that would be...embarrassing...
Testing with the Galaxy-R, Confirmed with Equiping the Console on the Galaxy-R, the Saucer Sep will use AMS.
Funny side note: If you are not in combat, and you swap the AMS Console ON and Off it will Spawn a new Saucer with or with out the Console, depending on if you had it on or not. Also, if you are not in combat, but your saucer is attacking some one, you could swap AMS console out, to Despawn that Saucer, getting a new Non AMS saucer, then Re-equip the AMS console for a new Saucer with AMS fully recharged.
Not that you could actually do that situation really.. At least as far as I can tell. :P
Tested Equiping the console on a different ship, but the saucer didn't discharge AMS. Seems to only, for the Galaxy-R, work if the console is equipped.
You think that your beta test was bad?
Think about this: American Football has been in open beta for 144 years. ~Kotaku
To be fair I have played some No P2W TRIBBLE matches on my klinks where I didn't bother to remove a dumb theta or aceton unit, that I like to spam on the borg in stfs. Just didn't have another sci unit around, and wasn't going to bother finding one before a match. Just didn't use the ability.
So if the pet works that way and you where not aware I could say that would be a pretty honest mistake. lol
Did you actually read what I wrote? I was specifically addressing the possibility that unequipping the console on your current ship is not enough.
When I tested it with the Galaxy-R, not having the Console Equiped, ment the Saucer you summon doesn't have it.
I do not own the Engineering Odyssey (or any of the 2,000 Cryptic Point Odysseys) to be able to test how the AMS console interacts with that ship and it's Saucer Seperation.

Whether the saucer (Gal-R or Odyssey) uses AMS depends on whether the player had the AMS console equipped when he launched the saucer. There is a problem though that can lead to unwanted AMS and it is rooted in different saucer behaviour between Gal-R and Odyssey.
When the ship is separated, the Gal-R respawns the saucer everytime the player equips or unequips the AMS console. This means that the saucer matches (with a couple of seconds delay) the AMS status (equipped/ unequipped) of the player. Interesting side effect: You can use this saucer respawn to revive a dead saucer section without having to deal with saucer sep cooldowns.
When the Odyssey is separated, (un)equipping the AMS console does not respawn the saucer. The saucer stays and retains the AMS status of the player at the time of launch. This means that launching the saucer while having AMS equipped and then unequipping the console does not remove the AMS ability from the saucer section, it will keep AMSing as long as it is alive.
Seriously pets with pay2win consoles whats next CRYPTIC?!!!!!!!!
Galaxy ReRetrofit - Carrier Variant. Comes with 2 Hangar Bays and Saucer Seperation. Saucer has its own hangar bay (It'S canon!!!!) launching Danube Runabouts.
Fleet Starbases may also introduce a new pet - Advanced Multi-Vector Tactical Assault Shuttle. Launch 2 AMVTAS per launch, maximum 2 waves. The AMVTAS either run ablative armor or split into 3 parts, one with energy draining tractor beam, one with a self replicating chroniton mine layer, and one with a phaser lance. Will also go to ramming speed if below 50 % hit points, but when successfully hitting their target, boarding parties arrive on your chip.
When boarding party expires, 3 random shuttle craft appropriate for your faction will launch from your ship and return to the Galaxy-ReRetrofit while firing at their source ship. When they make it to you, you gain a Sensor Analysis like buff against the source ship and all hangar bay cooldowns are reduced by 25 %.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

I use sensor resist (and subsystem repair for that matter), mostly because I get focus fired a lot with whatever as a primary healer. It's feasible def, you just give up dps for it.
Dudes I don't know who you're talking to, or why you feel the need to keep bringing us as a group up and how we have a supposed bad rep, but apparently we're in on your radar for whatever reason. I just play the game to play it, I can't speak for everyone of course, but I play the way I do.
In game I came upon at least three different peeps that said they heard someone saying something off key about us,
"don't join nova core, they're spammers",
"don't join nova core, they're sexist",
**** I was told I was in a match the other day sending tells trolling whoever in pvp, which in all honesty I never do and the only things I sent in a private message was the link to my 'How to make a Tal alien How to Make a Tal Alien to someone not even in the match, even a while back peeps in another fleet's voicechat were saying how I was spamming ams. I don't use it. In any case, why someone feels the need to be doing this stuff, go figure, idk. At least someone in that fleet was a good enough of a friend to let me know about it, **** he even defended me. So big ups to him.
I'm a dece guy. I go to work, I go to the gym, I study for a career, then I play if I can. I'm someone who tries to represent my fleet and my fam well. Why some of you have beef, I don't know, don't care I just figured until you get bored of us, we'll be your forum targets so you can get your jollies until someone else comes along, underdog is fine by me.
Quit mirrin and come correct or don't come at all.

Can you pass that on to the rest of your fleet please as they were chaining ams in the match I was in as a pug. They still lost thankfully.
come on now Naz they only had 5 of them.

It just happens to be something that only works with cruisers?
Why am I not surprised.

the sensor resist skill is a teir 4 skill.
way to high to be of any use.
Reputation, reputation, reputation! Oh, I have lost my reputation! I have lost the immortal part of myself, and what remains is bestial.
let me guess you are all fitting out your pets for some extra AMS now aren't you ?
