So I am told that if you play the game through Steam, you will be able to flat out purchase C-points through the Steam Wallet system, now i heard that doing this you will miss out on promo ZEN sales, what does this mean exactly? Is it only refering to when purchasing ZEN will give you extra ZEN for the amount you bought or do the ZEN Sales include something else? Cause i want to buy good ol fasion C-points again....

Q: Can I still buy Cryptic Points through Steam?
Cryptic Points will no longer be available through Steam, however, you can purchase ZEN for use in Cryptic Games. ZEN purchased for Champions or Star Trek using your Steam Wallet will go directly to your in-game ZEN balance.
So, Steam will not offer C-Points any longer when the conversion to Zen is done.. and I don't know if Steam will be offering the "Specials" for zen at reduced rate that the PWE site will offer.
Read the link above concerning the FAQ concerning the C-Point conversion to Zen... it is a complete conversion when it is implimented. C-points will be gone for good.

What is this whole thing with ZEN anyways? Why cant it just be Cryptic Points?
Be aware that Cryptic Points are being renamed to Zen very soon. Prices will be adjusted to eliminate the current exchange rate issues. UI on Tribble is already changed to Zen.
I don't understand why Cryptic Points are changing to Zen. PWE games are still using their own currencies. Just check out their exchange rate page.
Except for one other game, Cryptic's games are the only ones without a 1:1 conversion ratio. So changing the exchange rate was probably the major motivator. And the c-points name doesn't have any in-universe connection to the champions or star trek universes, so they probably thought the parent currency would work fine.
Take a look at my Foundry missions! Conjoined, Re-emergence, and . . .

It's PWE's virtual currency for all of their games. They are just making STO & CO fit the same model.
