Yes, profit IS what's left after expenses, so obviously I'm not asking anyone to forsake their salary since that WOULD be an expense. And I will not spend time rebutting a straw man argument.

Investment in Neverwinter is putting profits back into the company, just not where you think they should go.

Compensation to owners by way of return on investment is not an expense, however the analogy still stands. A patron does not have a say, nor should expect a say, in how profits are spent. In my analogy to a salary, at least the salary related to the product directly.

Cryptic no longer does anything with our money.
PWE uses it to fund their new North American game studio.

Plus, there are probably people swimming around in a vault full of cash.
    That seems legit.

    what a delicious debate
Yep #1 half&half, Animal stile! dubbled and stacked! and Super size that 7UP. cause us SBOs' don't pay enough tax, and get told all the time how to spend hour hard earned money. earned for the Goods and survices we provide! Webdeath, cool sig, and %85, who says I don't murder anyone for that, after all I drive a car, smoke cee'gars, sometimes blow my money on things like Video games, and smackmyself when the grass-hoppers complain! Good for PWE, its the American dream. Gods I'd love to swimm in money, keep in mind though, ID like them to wash it first.
Wish I could think of something wise and cool, and all That!

    *sigh*

It's 84% Gross Profit and about 35% Net Profit.

That's profit. Not reinvestment. Not paid to developers. Not paid in taxes.

    Profit.

As in paid to the shareholders.

As in what;s left over after all of the bills are paid.

    Profit.

Profit is what you use to reinvest with. The above stated are expenses and/or taxes.

PWE has a $2 dividend apparently. So $2x however many shares are out there subtracted from their net profit leaves you with retained earnings which is used to apply to whatever projects they have. Blah blah not counting preferred stock and all that jazz.
