Fleet Ships vs C Store Ships

just wondering since Season 6 is on it's way, and we are getting Fleet Ships that are viable for Endgame content, but want to know how do they compare to C Store T5 Ships because thinking of getting an Escort Carrier, should I save my money and wait for Season 6?

That depends on whether you want the Armitage skin and the PDS or not. The fleet version won't come with them, you'll need the C-Store version for that.

Depending on the Fleet ship, it either contains or doesn't contain the C-Store skin. For example, you can obtain the Nebula skin, but for the Fleet Heavy Escort, need to buy the Thunderchild to get its skin. Also, Fleet ships have no consoles, but have an extra console for it to go in if you have the C-Store ship.

I think if you get the Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier, then you will get the extra hanger, no console, and the Armitage skin, but not the Thunderchild skin. Don't see the Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier on Tribble, but you get an extra console, better HP, and better shields.

So the only reason why you would want to spend money on the Heavy Escort Carrier is if you can't wait the months it takes for your fleet to unlock the Tier V Shipyard or you want the torpedo point defense console.

I am not sure if you need to purchase the Armitage to unlock the skin for the Fleet Heavy Escort Refit.

Its pretty fun spitting out a bunch of photons at many targets at once... actually pairs really well with the Point Defense System from the Thunderchild too.

    Put it this way:

    Original T5 -> C-store (+1 Ship) -> Fleet Store (+2 Ship)

Honestly, given the stats on the new ships, buying an Akira Refit is a waste of money since all C-store ships are pretty much now worthless. And given Rivera's comment on Priority One, they expect you to spend $20 for that C-store ship for the Varient Ship Skin and the Console and put it on you're fleet ship. Which is exactly why it's a waste of money, because you won't be flying that C-store ship.

Except thats really all youre paying for now with the Thunderchild (and other refits) (a console, a skin, 1 console slot and an extra BOff ability).

So guess you rather get the Fleet Ship, then spend $20 or more for ship skins and consoles.

i might have misunderstood podcast but it sounded like for the fleet versions you would have to purchase a ship schematic from the zen store and then spend fleet credits and other stuff to get your ship made in shipyard and if this is so are they gonna make it if you bought schematic that you will be guranteed to get ship you bought schematic for? and if we got to buy schematic from zen store why no console?

That just makes me even more sick about this fleet system, you paying Zen for the Fleet Ship schematic? Really sounding like a new money scheme.

So if you want that Fleet Akira, Galaxy, Interpid, or Defiant, you gotta not only buy their lower-tier equivalents, but their Tier 5 Refits so you get the best out of that Fleet Ship. So basically you're paying like over $40 for that Fleet ship. :(

I'd bet money that the effective difference between the fleet ships and the c-store ships is marginal at best.

It's only going to matter if you really really really want that extra 1000 on top of your 14,000,000 damage in PvP.

The way that I understand it even when your fleet gets to the Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier you won't be able to buy it unless you have already purchased the CStore version before you try to buy the fleet version. Same with the Flagships and Corsair for examples other wise people wouldn't be buying the cstore versions at all and just waiting for the fleet version to be unlocked. If you don't buy any of the premium ships or costumes you will be stuck with the Basic skin selections on the ships that you can get for Dilithium. As it is if you want the current VA ships with the respective T2 or T3 premium skin you still have to buy both versions with Cpoints/Zen. Only difference will be that you can swap consoles from the cstore ones to the Fleet versions and pay fleet credits for the ships instead of anymore Cpoints.

As for the Armitage Skin on the Fleet Heavy Escort I would assume that yes you would get to use it if you bought the Armitage since it currently lets you use it on the Akira.

You shouldn't need to have to buy the T5 Refits unless you want the consoles for those ships since they all come in a Dilithium version as well not just a Cstore. If you wanted the Thunderchild or the Sao Paulo skins then yeah you would need to buy the lower teir CStore version but you don't need to buy them if you don't care about the skins or consoles. They are giving us "better/More Powerful" ships that we don't need to pay for with rm currency so if they include other perks that require you to pay the zen on if you want them so what they need to pay their devs some how. No one is telling you you have to buy any of the CStore just to get a decent amount of the fleet ship options. You get the access to the fleet versions of the ones you played while leveling with all the same skins they had the non-premium skin access to.

The ships are apprently up on Tribble, with their stats posted on the PVP forum here. Generally speaking a 10% bonus to hull rating and shield modifier, and another console slot in an already-favored area. Still 12 Boff powers, but in some cases a pretty signficiant rework of the layout, like the Vorcha with 5 engineering 5 tactical and a universal lt. They're not quite fully T6 yet, but these new Fleet Refits are numerically superior to even the latest-and-greatest like the Armitage or Odyssey, lacking only the special abilties and fancy skins but costing $25 less.

I wonder how many people decided against the sale this weekend once they heard about this?

Let's wait for final stats and the way the system works on holodeck.
From a F2P-point this system doesn't make sense atm.

Wouldn't surprise me if it'll work like the crafting system:
You can either pay full dilithium (or ZEN), or pay less dilithium but grind a while ingame
(both encourages all playerbases: payers, half grind/payers, grinders).
