Tactical Consoles

Hey guys,

I got a question related to the tactical consoles. I am currently equipped with 3x Polaron Phase Modulators Mk XII [Blue] and One Mk XII [Purple].

Why does the +30% from the base value only actually give +15% and not +30%? This is very confusing. You believe you really make +30% because the description says so but then on the other side you don't make this amount of percent. Can anyone explain?

With the exception of consoles like graviton/particle generators, which add a base + to a specific skill, the bonuses of armor/weapondmg have a decreasing efficacy when stacked.

Okay but why are the ingame descriptions not reflecting this?

Weapon consoles add to the BASE damage of a weapon, not actual.

You'll also have bonuses for skill levels and whatever else applies, but the consoles do not multiply this.

    so you'll have base+skill bonuses+console bonues rather than (base+skill bonuses)x console bonus.

As an example, if base dps is 300 but actual is 600 before consoles applied, a 30% console would give +90 not + 180.

Further, the diminishing returns comes from the fact that, to use the above example, additional consoles will continue to give +90 per console. While the bonus remains the same, as a percentage of overall dps it is smaller.

Again, using the first example. Console 1 adds 90 dps to give a total of 690. Which is an increase of 30% of base and 15% overall. Console 2 adds 90 dps to give 780. Again an increase of 30% of base but only 13% overall.

Thank you for your explanation Mandrake45, but the actual base DPS and damage cannot be seen because everything is associated with your skills. So how can we actually determine ourselves what the base DPS is. When we right click the weapon and go on INFO, it shows the DPS and damage which says to "not be affected by skills or modifiers" but then in the end is actually affected when you just look into the Info box.

Usually the base damage (or any stats) of space weapons (equipment) can be seen on the item while on ground, and vice-versa.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

You can also see the base damage by hovering your mouse pointer over the weapon in your stats page. Or, unequip it and hover over the weapon in your inventory.
