It's been a looong time since I last posted on this forum (since beta days I think), so please don't stone the born-again newbie just yet.

I'm one of the satisfied owners of the 4000cp Odyssey Pack (I enjoy my sci ody with all three consoles very much), and given all the talk of the new Season Six fleet bases and possible Assault Cruiser Refit, I thought it would only be appropriate to extend some of this upgrade love to people who invested in the full Odyssey spectrum while at the same increasing the incentive and attraction for other customers to buy the pack (or to put the other consoles up for sale in the c-store without purchasing the full pack for those who bought the individual +1 Odyssey offerings).
I tried searching for this idea, but found nothing close (and if it's there, and I missed it, I apologize for wasting your time and mine), so here goes...
Console - Universal - Unified Engineering Systems
(
description text would include info for all three Odyssey consoles with no changes to existing stats for the separate consoles; Enhanced Engineering Systems set bonus would still apply)
The simple point to an Odyssey Refit would be to leave the +1 ships as they currently are, but to reward owners of the big Pack by giving them the opportunity
to take their three unique Odyssey consoles, and mashing them together into a single unified console in order to free up two valuable console slots. This console would, of course, scale to level like the separate consoles.
Moreover, I propose this be made available through the Duty Officer system, but acquired strictly through a special engineering NPC that only appears at a certain point in the Fleet Starbase development (perhaps when a base reaches the tier that opens up the shipyard). It can also be a DOff-less job that has guaranteed success rate like recruitment missions that rewards you with Bridge Officers, but in this case rewards Engineering commendation points, and random success simply means more Eng points with no affect on the unified console itself (i.e. its quality is not affected by critical success).
Finally, there is the little matter of the Chevron and Aquarius modules currently unable to be used both at the same time. I've seen the complaints here about it, how it makes no logical sense, but I'm fairly certain it's a technical limitation of the Cryptic engine. The devs have likely thought of it already, but to further enhance the appeal and value of the Unified console, include the ability to launch both modules at the same time (a la the MVAE multi-vector console) while you choose to man either the stardrive or the Chevron, or simply limit it to control of the stardrive as is the case now.
I welcome any and all opinions and suggestions to these ideas. Thanks!

If people want to buy the ships seperately over time then they should get same option to condense as those who bought the 3 pack.
Im for this but for sake of balance make the console take 2 slots not 1. You gain a console slot but 2 slots could throw balance off a good bit.

While that would be more convenient (and perhaps makes a little more sense since it's not a major overhaul of the ship itself), I wrote the idea in a way that it integrates with the new Season 6 gameplay features as well as the DOff system.
I don't agree. It's not adding two console slots to the ship, it's just streamlining the console use of the ship by freeing up existing slots while enjoying the benefits of using the full set. Again, this is meant as a bonus thank-you for buying the pack, and for enhancing what is meant to be the current flagship class of Starfleet. It should absolutely be one of the best ships in space. Trust me, an extra field generator or armor console will not make this overpowered in the least.
And freeing up 2 slots and having 3 abilties would give it a major edge, the d'kora is similar but isnt as beefy as the oddy nor as versital, think about it this way.
Sci Odd with SA, 3 Abilties, 3pc set bonus, 4x field gens, + top end shield, + universal slots, and god knows what other consoles. Toss in 2-3 armor eng consoles and you can see how this stacks up against a sov.
Odd is already the favored cruiser atm. A good compromise would be a new type of condensed console of the 3 abilties but no 3 pc bonus OR a reduction in the effects that the abilities give aka less turnrate while in chevron.
+ and - of things have to be considered for gameplay. Personally i think 3 abilities with no 3pc bonus would be the best compromise.
