I don't know if anyone made a thread about this yet (and I hope that this is in the right section), but if not, you all saw this coming.
So, ideas, thoughts, etc. What are yours on this crossover? Is it good? Bad? Neither?
Where should it go? What do you think it needs? What do you think it needs to get rid of?
If it is related to the comic, I want to hear it!
Btw, I will start. I haven't read it yet, so keep that in mind.
*ahem*
I think The Doctor should meet the Voyager's EMH Doctor, if only to make the joke that both are referred to as "The Doctor".
The comic is set in the TNG universe, somewhere between the episodes "The Outcast" and "Cause and Effect" according to the Tardis Wiki although I did see an animated version of Seven of Nine as a Borg in some reviews of it somewhere but that may have been from another comic
I enjoyed the first issue. The second one is waiting for me in my pull list. No idea if I'll be able to make it to the comic book store this weekend though.
It's the Cybermen who assimilate everybody--they are very similar to the Borg in a number of respects.
The Cybermen of the 10th and 11th Doctor's eras are a lot like the Borg in their quest for perfection by assimilation or "conversion" as they call it. The Cybermen of the Classic series however were pretty different from the Borg in that they only assimilated people to replenish their numbers, not to find the ultimate perfection. I kinda like the new "more Borglike" versions
come to think of it, there are other things in Star Trek beside the Borg that are influnced by Doctor Who
There is a Tardis(alike) in ENT: a timetravelling machine which is bigger on the inside.
Riker once asked for a Sonic Driver (close enough).
One time a List appears, it consists of the 7 DW-Actors, known so far (then).
Argolis exists in both "serial universes".
The novel "Blind Man's Bluff" has several lines of the Tennant Doctor:
"Don't blink" ... "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." etc.
Of course they are spoken by "Doctor" from Voyager.
Put the other way round:
Rose introduced the Doctor to Captain Jack as "Mr. Spock".
More I don't remember atm, but there are... (I think there was at least one in TOS).

There's a direct reference to Star Trek itself in "The Impossible Astronaut." The first episode of series 6 of Doctor Who, and later in the series in "Closing Time" there's reference to a "beam-me-up Star Trek teleport"
Another similarity between Jem'Hadar and Sontarans is that instead of eating food, they have a port installed in their neck through which they receive special nutrient.

which is also their "only" weakness... if its damaged then said Jem'hadar or Sontaran will spasm then die.
unless the odd jem hadar is immune to the effects of the drug.

I go with neither so far. It wasn't bad, but not good either
I will wait for a trade, and buy it for my collection though.
Don't want to spoiler, so I say: It's better than the Star Trek (JJ Edition) "Prequel".
Now I'm back to my Ready Room, Y and 100 Bullets await me ... again.

EDIT: Here's a link to the Tardis Wiki entry on the crossover comic *SPOILERS* it contains a synopsis of all releases so far http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Assimilation%C2%B2_%28comic_story%29

Assimilate, Assimilate, Assimilate.
Awoken Dead
Now shaddup about the queues, it's a BUG
Erm, not quite. Daleks aren't Assimilators, they're Exterminators
Dr Who/Star Trek crossover.
...Guess I missed something in the translation.

Maybe a Torchwood-Trek crossover could work.

Some people prefer Dave Tenant, some prefer Matt Smith.
In DS9, we seen the Jem'Hadar, a Cloned Army bred for War. Sounds alot like http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Sontaran
And in one Episode of Voyager, we are shown a Reptilian Race that evolved on Earth. Sounds familar http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Silurian

Here's a more complete list for both Doctor Who references in Star Trek and Star Trek references in Doctor Who http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Doctor_Who http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Trek
I would post up youtube clips of the references as well, but that would violate PWE's rules on Copyrighted materials

Cybermen ?
Musta missed them thru the years- I thought they were rather benign compared to the Daleks.

Otherwise this is a huge embarassment to Star Trek.

Issue 2 came out Wednesday. My shop also got second-run copies of Issue 1 so others might as well if anyone missed the sold-out first run.
do tell. whats happening ?
I don't want to spoil too much, but where 1 left off? Yeah, it's probably not what you think it is.
Also the cover for #3 (at the back of the print issue) is very cool.
