Come on Brandon, where is the spirit of Scotty? you know if you say your going to take it down for 2 hr's you have to have it up in 90 minutes right? You're not going to tell us how long it's "really" going to take are you?
This 'confusion' (=poor knowledge) is one of the reasons the term GMT should not be used any more and the term UTC has replaced it. GMT never changed because of summer. UTC never changes due to summer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gmt
Britain (including the observatory of Greenwich) during summers use UTC+0100 = GMT+0100
Most of Europe is currently on UTC+0200 etc.
My pet peeve regarding STO and times is that I haven't found any option to use a 24h clock in it.
How on earth could they possibly do more to inform people? They put a post up about it on the forum, and a message in a big red box in the launcher. The server itself is still up, and people who are logged on can still play.
I think some people need to have their eyes tested, because this is rediculous.
I was logged in and kicked for unknown (unstated) reason at the time they brought the Account Server Down.

Yes they can do more as I previously stated. Like a link to an active official topic of the situation details so you don't have to search the forums guessing where the topic is! Especially since they tell you the check the Forums for more information!
Maybe a Yellow Server Status might be the answer, but it would have to explain clearly like you just did, "The server itself is still up, and people who are logged on can still play.", however if your not logged in the Server Status is Down for you.

I could buy cryptic points with a Visa Gift Card. I cannot but Zen with a Visa Gift Card. This is lame! I hope they fix this soon. I don't want to have to try and find a large supply of PWE cards when I could just put what I planned to spend on a gift card.

KHAAAAAN! I came back from work just to see an unable to authenticate.. that was 2 hours ago. And btw, while I'm ranting can we get time zone settings back? Used to be able to see everything on the forums in my own time zone. When PWEassimilation occurred, cannot anymore.

Brandon, can you find anything out about zen and visa gift cards for me? I know alot of people use them. I have a few gamestops around and they sell pwe cards but I'd like to buy a large amount of zen at once buying 5-6 cards may not be possible. Or do you know of a work around?

STO needs to update their Server Status timely and correctly, if you can't login to the server, it is inaccessible and for all practical purposes SERVERS ARE DOWN!
The game servers are up just the account servers are down (or were if they come back online while typing this)
