well theres been a real lack of new science ships really , aside from maybe the atrox , so bringing all the early teir ones up to t5 is a good move , if not just for more diversity in what people use
I really like the Nova. Glad to see a usable version for end-game. I want the fleet version since it has the LTCMDR Tac and I am addicted to HYT3.
The character I would use it on is my namesake character on my main account who is a science capt. Although i have to say, he is running the free odyssey right now with the univesal ltcmdr slot running tactical for HYT3. I can't say I like losing a forward and back weapon slot, lots of hull, and the high tier engineering abilities just for high end sci abilities, manueverability, and the skin. But I will prob set up both those ships and he can switch out as the need arises.
Interesting that the screenshots show 9 consoles for both - can anyone check and see if that is the same for other ships, given that they said they'll all have 10 consoles (the fleet ones anyway) If so - I wonder if it will have 5 sci slots or 4 tac?
Well, not really a big loss - will just stick my spare MkXI Tetryon dual beam array and either a MkXI Tetryon beam array or tetryon cannons. With it's agility, sub-system targeting and certain sci-powers, it should be an effective shield-melter.
Sub-system targeting only works with beams. So if you go cannons and turrets you're losing out on one of the ships built in abilities.
Between the ships turn rate, the tac console slots, and that Lt. Cmd tac station you'd probably be better served putting 2 dual beam banks and a torpedo of your choice forward and use the Lt. Cmd tac power for APO, BO3, or FAW3.
So let's see - say you do 2xdual beam, 1 torp front, 2xturret, 1xtorp/mine in back.
Tac Team 1, Torp Spread 2, APO for the tac
EPtS 1, Aux to SIF 1, Eng
Say Gravity Well 3, normal heals (sci team, tss, hazard) for the lt and ensign, that leaves you lt. commander, lt. and ensign science to pick for a build.
I'd go with Tyken's Rift, for one, cause of some overlap between that and gravity well dofs, but what else to make this a damage oriented science vessel that doesn't pop too easy?

All other ships that have 2 different versions on Tribble have one with 9 consoles (and usually other somewhat inferior stats) and another with the promised ten. Maybe you should really bug report it.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
