STO is going Manga in s7 ?

had a navigation mishap on the main page. ( http://sto.perfectworld.com/404?url=%2Ffrontpage )

This is the pic i was shown:

Now is this a Trek toon with no pips? Calling me a Cadet? Whilst making the evil finger pyramid? And...AND... drawn in manga style???

Is this a warning of things to come?

    More like a very old holdover from times gone by. This picture has been around and used for marketing since before the game was launched.

    That's not even really manga style. That could be just about any modern western comic.

    Personally it makes me think of Batman Beyond.

    It has been around since i started plaing at 1st Ann.
    I remember it being the image used in the Captain Rename sevice.

    Edit: note; It is STILL used for the background for the Captain Rename service. check the C-Store.

    A long time? That was in the promotional materials two years ago! It's on the error page, methinks it's also the background of the Re-name token, and it pops up elsewhere from time to time.

    I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going...

    .. but really, I still find it quite surprising that given Cryptic's expertise in such drawings (namely Champions Online art), that we haven't seen more of this type of material.

    How great would it be if they released a a monthly installment of a STO comic? It could help Kestral detail the adventures of the USS Enterprise without having to resort to writing for external sources (ST Magazine).

    At this rate someone will dig up the magazine cover that inspired the open jackets and people will speculate when the newer sexier STO will show up lol!

    I want to know is where the old comic about STO devs going out while wearing STO swag before the game was announced and unable to confirm it went - it used to be the old 404 error page.

    There was also a Kilngon and an Alien female (with the Vulcan above) that was used for that cover of PC Gamer Oct 2009 that was the inspiration for the open jacket.

    But try as i might i haven't figured out who the artist was that did those cover pieces.

    Edit: Pictures like this make me want to be bitten.

    If anyone can find a "non-cover version" of the klingon, let me know.
