Q: (OtakuboyT) Can we have a service to remake our captains with gender and species options?

Dstahl: The ability to “re-species” or “re-trait” is high on our upcoming feature list. This feature is coming, I just can’t share which update it will be in yet

    Because its gonna be at least 400 cp..probably 800 cp. That will keep the accountants happy.

    I'm hoping that it will include Profession change as well. Seems like alot of work though, so I am looking at a very very high cost in regards to CPoints amount.

    I doubt it will include Profession Change. That's something rarely asked for and seems a very different problem.

    Since he doesn't have a date/season/update for it, basically nothing has changed from before 2 years or so when the topic first came up on the Engineering Discussions.

    I'd look more carefully at stuff announced for Season 6, like the PVP stuff - heck, he has even given an estimate of when parts of it will be on Tribble for testing.

    A complete ground up respec token that included craziness like sex, race, career and faction change would be over the top awesome but getting the tech to convert BOs and DOFFs equally between the factions, (for example), would be insane.

    No I will be content with just the ability to re-pick my species attributes. I am actually very happy with my toons race, sex and factions. Though making it so Ferengi could be KDF player characters would be freaking awesome.

    i dont rly mind if its 400-800 C-store points. for once i would gladly give that to be able to retrait my fed toon. I hope the price for it will be reasonable.

    How about offering a "holo-costume" that allows us to pick whatever race we want to appear as? That way our race change is just another costume.

    I'm glad Re-Species and Re-Trait Tokens are on Cryptic's radar. I was just about to start a thread asking how far are we away from getting these services.

    The last we heard this will require all kinds of new tech for their systems folks to design. They are always over loaded so I don't expect it anytime Soon™.

    I found this interesting because prior to Dan Stahl's extremely vague comment regarding this, the official Cryptic standpoint on the matter was NO, NEVER, NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

    So is this for real? Or another hollow Dan Stahl promise?

    Well, based on your sig, I would imagine that if Dan promised anything you wouldn't believe it.

    If this system would put into the allowance of a Liberated Bolian Borg, then I would certainly be for it.
    There should of course be appropriate restrictions, such as: if you didn't have a race unlocked normaly, ie Lib Borg, than you can't respecies into it.
    Same with the Joined Trill, Fed Klingon etc.

    I'm all for it but make players keep the default traits of the race they originally chose. So if you have Bolian traits, then even as a Borg you have the default Bolian traits. The re-trait should only affect the traits you can actually change when you create a character.
