Sounds good, but I accidentally blew all my dilithium on crafting items, so unless I see raving reviews on the ship, It'll be a while before I can purchase it as I can only affort about $10-15 at the moment unless I hear it's really worth it.
Keep up the good work Devs.
yeah but someone can answer my previous question about the carrier having a free version of the Carrier?
Much appreciated guys
The Caitan carrier is available only in the C-Store.
The "Free" Odyssey was... oh, man, I really have to meter my tone here.... The free Odyssey was given out for, depending on whom you ask, one or both of two reasons:
As a thank-you to people who had active subscriptions at the time of the Two Year Anniversary;
To satisfy the promise Daniel Stahl made that the Odyssey would be available in the game without having to go through the C-Store.
So, in summary, there is no free version of the Caitan carrier, much as there is no free/non-c-store version of the MVAM, the Garumba destroyer, or the Galaxy-X dreadnought cruiser.
Why can't you try out the ship on Tribble without buying it on the holodeck, so we can try it out, like previous ships? I was so happy to be able to try it out, and see if I would buy it, but I can't.
I bought a set of klingon pets yesterday, including siphon drones. But there is no way to use those epic pets. This is sad, since we have no pets with the same effects. The ones supposed to use tachyon beam just do nothing.
All C-store ships are account-wide unlocks. So yes.
Any klinks here who have experience with carriers have any take on whether these science-heavy things are even any good for tactical or engineering captains? My Caitian's nowhere near the required rank yet, and I'm not putting any other species in it cause I take such things way too seriously, but it's not a science officer so I have to wonder if when the time comes I wouldn't regret the purchase.
Shiny only gets you so far, afterall. (And to be honest, I'm currently thinking it's maybe a bit too shiny.)
Oh Man, it is so much fun, try getting me off it. I re-specced my Sc Captain to make it a really annoying build, with siphon 1 and 2, Tyken 2, Viral Matrix 3, Sub nuc, sensor scan, Feedback Pulse, HY Chronitons, warp plasma 1, all with the attention of sucking power and slowing the enemy down, added the advanced stalkers and the advanced delta flyers. So all in all spent about 3000 c points to get it. Great fun, I accompanied the fleet last night and all agreed it helped hugely on all STF runs, we finished them all in record time with all optionals. Interestingly in Infected was killed twice by 2 one shots, one of them 214K (thanks for sorting that out Cryptic LOL) and once in KASE, but no damage was recorded, so perhaps the damage counters are not set up on this ship yet lol.
I also did a 1v1 against a heavy BoP and utterly slaughtered it twice, and took on another Atrox which was specced for a tank and captained by an engineer. Took a while but beat him 3 - 0 with my ship dropping only to 80% at the lowest point. The sustained shield targeting, tetryon beams and all the accompanying spam wore down his CDs lol, oh and a couple of Hy Tricobalts from my bottom spam port added to his misery. LOL, 658 K damage from 3 rounds to me, 400K damage to him, 650K healing to me and, get this 1.5million healing from him .
Having lost 3 times he still said he loved it and will get a sci Caitan toon to take full advantage of it.
Put simply, it is Gorgeous, very effective, and a huge amount of fun. Cannot fault anything, really.
If you are on the fence, go get it.
Oh and in Kerrat it took out the two Karfi's with ease.
It has the bridge that came with the free Odyssey. I did the 2 easy STFs on elite, and it performed like a champ. It is a beautiful ship! I wouldn't ruin its perfection with any shield effects!
I am now farming dilithium for fighter upgrades. The stalker fighters are fine, but I am hoping that dilithium gets me something to enhance my options in a meaningful way.
Having great ships to buy outright takes the sting out of wanting what my anti-luck keeps forever out of reach. I really do love to give Cryptic my money. I just like getting something for it!

I'm liking my Borgified Carrier. About the only missions I won't take her on though are misson such as the Traelus Sattelite repair mission and the Fuel Depot resuce mission where you need to kill multple enemies quickly to prevent a mission failure. Otherwise She's Good to go.
Comments
I hope so, but knowing who made it i doubt it LOL
Keep up the good work Devs.
not that it matters, given the fact the galaxy wasn't supposed to fit as well. They will put whatever they want in ESD since they want it to be there.
Much appreciated guys

That would be typical equipment for a Rear Admiral ship, wouldn't it? Copy & Paste Error from the Vo'Quv?
A normal one, it doesn't have a specialized bridge.
Yes it on kdf side.
