Secret rooms and hidden GM hideouts.

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Some MMOs have a secret room or a hidden gateway to a limit access hideout.
Finding them are hard to search for... Players who happen to find them get in trouble and place into GM jail.

My question is.... Are their hidden rooms for GMs in Star Trek Online?

Has a GM gave you a friendly tour of it?
Have you bug out and happen to end up in a hidden room?
Have you seen past a wall where you found a hidden room?

I played this game since release and haven't found any thing. But have you found any secrets of Star Trek Online?

I think they call that the Captain's Table. That's where I go to handle exchange stuff when I want to avoid the lag.

I'm talking about something else than that.

I should of paid for lifetime than a year. So, I can go there and the Captain's Table is not a secret.

Not likely, since everything is instanced. It's not like WoW or Everquest where there are a handful of GIANT zones on static servers.

The Foundary is probably the closest thing to a GM/Dev room.

It's wherever the donuts and the coffee are :)

My first guess would be SFA but that's too new. Maybe a special level at ESD?

    This most likely.

IF there are hidden areas...they are hidden. :p;)

There is a secret mission in "Klingon Scout Force" in the Laurentian System "Save the U.S.S. Daxter'

Does that count as a secret room ?

The closest thing to a "secret" area I know of is the cave on Risa. Not really a "secret", but it is kinda hidden away. More like a "Deeprun Tram" area if you know what I mean. ;)

I haven't seen any secret rooms yet.

Generally, if we don't want to be seen, we can just move our characters outside of the regular map, i.e. I stand on the ceiling of Quinn's office when in ESD sometimes.

But now that you've put the idea into my taco. . .

if you fall out the ESD map the old shipyard lounge and admirals office are about :P

though not worthy of a secret and unfortionatly impossible to get to... unless you fall into one.

The secret dev/GM room is where you went when the Turbolift Passenger Ejection System was still implemented. Why do you think that "bug" was finally removed?

I remember running through the zone boundaries in EQ when I had crappy connections.

Then you were in a small room, with cat faces as the wall texture, with all the mobs changed into Human males... scaled up or down, depending on the size of the mob.

They have pictures of the EQ cat room if you do a GIS.

Zoning in STO doesn't work the same way. I don't think I've run through a zone boundary in STO like I have in EQ, mainly because the EQ boundaries were penetrable...

An homage to the cat room would be kind of funny.

So, if I get my camera passed the wall of Quinn's Office... I might see a GM on the ceiling?

(To Picture) If you build that? I will feel like someone is always spying on me.
What next cloaked suits for GMs?

    Is there a GM Brig?

oh, GMs can already set themselves to be invisible. . .
Plus, we all have private accounts that aren't flagged.

You never know when/where a dev/GM may be.

That guy, greifing you on your last STF? Could be a dev. . . :P

Ah ha! That's why that last STF Ground Mission seemed funny with a female science trill tanking the borg and only used a sword during the mission.

Cryptic GM's are a myth, there are no 'Game Masters' in STO.They do have Googly Monsters,Game Muppets,Godly Misfits,Girly Men,Ghostly Movers,Garlic Minions and Gaseous Manifestations.....no reason for Cryptic to build hideouts for GM's if they don't exist.

I have done a lot of ESD exploring using DEMORECORD and regrettably it is even less elaborate than it appears ingame. No hidden areas at all....

GM can't do any in-game punishments... Like locking someone in a room with no exit. Right?

One game, I dare a GM that he can't send me to jail. Then went to jail and wait there for 10 mins then return to the game. After, the GM and I had a good laugh. Classic times....

Where my classic fun times with the GM in Star Trek Online? lol
