Hmmm.... well, since concept art isn't an option,

I'll go with the Luna. Don't know why, but I just love that ship.

The very first ship I set my sights on when I first downloaded the game at F2P was the Intrepid-class. I felt it was the most swooshable of all the Federation ships out there.

I currently fly the free Odyssey simply for its weapons slots and BOff layout.

The Excelsior hands down. She combines the basic Roddenberry Rules look with a unique and gorgeous design in my arrogant opinion. After that it would have to be the Nova Class original, I like the saucer better on it than on the Rhode Island.

Interesting that I was just thinking the exact opposite. The TNG sets actually still stand up pretty well I think in terms of looking like the future, slick, thin touch displays.

The TOS ship became the paradigm for the general shape of the franchise's ships, but the Enterprise D became the paradigm for all the sleek, detailed, curvilinear ships that would follow it, like the Intrepid and the pre-Federation Enterprise.

I have to say the Sovereign. Its big, but still nice and sleek, and also powerful.

Though the more that i fly the Odyssey, the more I like that. So far it hasnt passed the Sovereign, but its a contender.

For FED: It's a toss up between the Wells class, MVAE, and intrepid. I like how these are progressing away from the saucer, hull, strut, nacelle design structure that's really getting quite boring and dated. There's only so many variations of each part you can do before they all start looking the same and these three show that you can break away or start to break away from the norm successfully.

For Non StarFleet ships: pretty much anything EXCEPT for Nero's mining ship from the JJ Abrams Star Trek Movie. I understand the point was to make the ship look extremely out of place futuristic, but there is no design sense or style to it. That took a porcupine, gave it steroids and then use a giant sling shot to launch it into space. The interior of it didn't even remotely support that it was a mining vessel either.

I like the unique designs of the Fed (non Starfleet) and alien ship more simply because there is no hard restrictions on the design structures.

Fav Ship interior: NX-01 by far. As much as I love the Ent-D the NX-01 interior layout just makes more sense. no giant, long sweeping corridors. The only part I didn't like is how pretty much EVERY wall panel and every item had an ID sticker on it.

galaxy class of course. poor thing had the worst luck, always written as the underdog and the great big guy with the glass jaw. not even superman was as big a victim of superman syndrome as the galaxy class.

next would be ambassador, then nx, then sovereign, then excelsior

    See my sig. ;)

Defiant all the way. I love the idea of an overpowered, over gunned powerhouse. I got my first Defiant class at 30 and then raced to 50 so I could get my next and final Defiant. I got the interior pack and think it fits just right.

I pick up other ships here and there and try different mixes. But far and away the U.S.S. Avenger is my main.

Starfleet: I love the NX class - a functional design, reminiscant of today's spacecraft, yet beautiful regardless. After that is the Connie refit, then the Intrepid, then the Defiant.

Klingon: pretty much all of them are awesome. My favorite is probably the K't'inga; after that is the Bird-of-Prey and the Vor'cha.

Romulan: D'deridex by far. I also like the Mogai.

STO: Emissary and Exeter are beautiful. The Sao Paulo is nice as well. I prefer the majestic designs over the bulky "warship" ones.

Other: the Vulcan combat cruiser is awesome. Also the Jem'Hadar fighter.

That's all I can think of right now. More later. :D

    The NX and the B'rel.

I'm genuinely surprised by how many people like the Intrepid though. I always found it to be the ugliest ship in Trekdom (after the Olympic of course).

Same as my favourite show - Galaxy Class.

Beautiful overall shape, and love the "lounge" feeling the interior gives me.

    Everything is soft and comfortable.

Going to have to go with the ole Constitution class. Been a fan of that design since the series came out. Some of the other ships may be more sleek or sexier but the nostalgia of the Connie class keeps me coming back to it. I still wish they would give us a tier 5 connie ship or skin at least.

Yup. Me too. The Constitution is iconic in a way that no other ship will ever be. I love that old ship the same way I love the football team I grew up with.

I fell in love with the D'deridex when I first saw it.
I dig the Nova class too (which I'm flying now)

    You've heard it hear first:

    1) D'Deridex next lockbox ship
    2) Nova Retrofit in the works!
But the Ent D is my ship, in all of her 80's, ugly duckling glory.
I love the Galaxy Class as well. Ugly duckling describes it well (hehe, I had a model of the Enterprise and it suggested using the color "duck egg blue" for painting the model. Unfortunately, I never found out the real color that was supposed to be in German, so I eventually settled for a silver color. Looked neat, IMO.)

I think the TOS Constitution and the Galaxy both have one thing in common - they look somewhat odd, for a spaceship. It takes getting used to them. They have a unqiuness to them, saying me "this is not your average day starship". The Sovereign (which I love as well) is clearly something streamlined and even looks somewhat militaristic. But the TOS and the Galaxy are very curvy ships, they don't scream "warship".

Give respect where it is due. Nothing has ever, can ever, or will ever top the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. She was a grand old lady.

it's tough to say which ship is my favorite. I love the original constitution and the refit. I grew up with TOS TAS and the original movies. And I do have both ships. I am pleased that now as a commander i have cheyenne and excelsior and love them both too. I still have several levels before i reach the rank of Captain. That will be tough. Everyone here loves the Intrepid and it is great. But i love the Defiant and Galaxy class ships. I dont know which one to get. I will have to see which costs more dillithium and get one with promotionand buy the other one. There is no way i cannot have both ships in my personal fleet. Overall the original ncc-1701 or refit are my favorites and i do try and keep them upgraded with shield delfectors and weapons. Even miranda is great becaue of Star Trek II i love that film and it is cool having both ships. As for KDF i just started playing and i am suprised how well my bird of prey is up against federation. dare i say i took out a defiant escort several miranda frigates and even an exeter class ship. The USS Kirk to be exact. I want the K'Tinga class battle cruiser from TOS it is my favorite. I will upgrade that to the fullest extent i can get when i do reach that rank. The Romulan Warbird looks impressive but not playable yet. I never liked cardassian galor class but they are impressive in battle. Not too crazy about other klingon ships.

I was going to select Nova class (the Rhode Island refit in particular) as my favorite, but the Intrepid just edges it out for me, especially with the Bellerophon skin. So I'd have to say Nova class is, for me, a very close second.

Seriously though - how do you fly a Nova class without being accused of 'griefing'? I still fly mine occasionally, but from various discussions here have, basically, been told that I shouldn't use it it for STF's etc regardless of the equipment I use on it.

    We really need a T5 version. :(

Fed Ships: That's a tossup. My first favorite would have to be the Intrepid (one of the sleekest ships out there), the second is the Prometheus (again, a sleek looking ship that will faceroll nearly anything).

But to give respect when it's do, the Original NCC 1701 deserves it's own place because you just can't not respect the classics.

Klingon Ships: The Negh'var. Hands. Freaking. Down. It just looks like the biggest badass on the block that you don't want to mess with.

Other ships: Valdore class, Jem'hadar Attack Ship (even though it looks like a Space Beetle), and the Scimitar (even though Nemesis was a crapshot, the Scimitar looked freaking awesome)

Don't use it in STFs and only in single player instances. Maybe the DSEs are also okay.

Yeah, I know and agree, we need a T5 version.

Use my T5 Intrepid (Bellerophon) for pretty much everything these days, occasionally switching to my Science Odyssey - prefer the Bellerphon though.

I very rarely use my Nova anymore to be honest - still pull it out for the occasional Borg Red Alert, or Starbase 24, but otherwise she's mothballed. A pity - fantatsic little ship.

The original Connie, or the Galaxy-X (sort of the alpha and omega of starfleet vessels)

Klingon side, I have always liked the Vor'cha class.

When I play my Science Captain, I also use the Intrepid, but I don't like the Bellerophon. I am trying to remember what I use - I believe most of the parts are Cochrane, but with Voyager Pylons, giving the ship a wider (and ncier) appearance.
    I wish!
If you'd made me Captain, that would happen!

I love the look of the Bellerophon. Each to their own I guess.

Saying that, if a T5 Nova appeared I would buy it without hesitation and suspect wouldn't want to use anything else.

Hmm - maybe Nova class is my favorite class......

Never really had a favorite as far as ship class until I first laid eyes on the TNG episode and I seen the first Gx...

Was love at first sight. So much so when the ship first came out I purchased it without a moments thought. I did not care at that time if it was underpowered, needed improvements or anything else. I proudly used the ship and now, with Cryptic improvements to the game and to the base ship, for Big old Mongo, its the only ship I fly when I am out an about.

Will always be my ship of choice in STO.

Well, all joking aside, I would seriously LOVE a T5 Nova Refit - the T2.5 was a fantastic little ship, and as said earlier, I still have a great time on the rare occasions I pull her out of mothballs.

All the demands and 'I wants' from other players..... the only 'I want' that I have is a T5 Nova.

Honestly all the ships in tiers 1-3 need a boost to make them end-game functional.

Favorite ships though? In no particular order:
    • Nova
    • Constitution Refit
    • Sovereign
    • Danube Class Runabout
    • Delta Flyer
    • Maquis Raider
    • Galor
    • Vor'cha

And if we're counting Cryptic designs add:
    • Maelstrom Fleet Escort
    • Imperial Assault Cruiser
    • Shi'kar Light Cruiser
    • Exeter Cruiser
    • Ushaan Escort
    • Venture Exploration Cruiser
    • Odyssey

Interesting. Nova class seems to be more popular than I thought. It may not have gotten 'top spot' in many people's favorite list, but it is on a good number of them!

So, DEVS - T5 Nova (refit) pleeeease!
