I bought a new Bortasqu ship, and quite honestly it is TRIBBLE. Or as americans might say,it sucks.
Comparing it to the neghvar battle cruiser, the neghvar is alot better.
With the bortasqu ship,i was expecting top rate weapons on it,no such luck there. Please don't waste your money as i did, don't buy it.
I actually can pull off crazy numbers with mine. I'd have to blame your setup over the ships ability to be honest. Which you failed to post for comment.
I agree with the OP. My own opinion of it is far less diplomatic - and my build is great. In the matches before I got the ship, I was scoring 1st -3rd in DPS and highest in healing with my Negh'Var. The handicaps of this "battlecruiser" was glaring,

And I can do moderately well with it as well, but does that advanatge lie in the ship or the user?
There is lies my hesitance to call it OP. Its obviusoly a real good ship but only as good as its user.
Oh, I donno...
I had all but 2 weapons already at Mk XII from STFs and I got the 3 ship package.
The Disruptor cannon rocks, the BoP pet looks super awesome and even seems to attack like you want it to.
Even the Snare works pretty good.
I do notice you don't get the set bonus because it's saying you've only got 3/4 instead of 3/3...hopefully that'll get fixed soon, bug reports filed.
*EDIT* Just found out it's a graphics bug only, it does show it's giving the bonus for the set.
I had been flying the free version of the Bortas for a while anyway with 2 of my 5 KDF and I've learned how to deal with the horrendous turn rate.
But most of all, I like the BO layout. It allows for great adaptability and versatility.
Oh, did you notice the Bortas has a inherit 50% bonus Critical severity?
Add that to the bonus severity from Anti-Protons and the bonus severity from the Borg console....
I think the Bortas is an excellant cruiser, more than capable in almost any situation.
I need to practice with it myself, but so far I'm pretty happy with it. Is it worth $50? Eh.
But it's performing about what I expected.
I think the key thing is treat it like any cruiser. As a beam boat with occasional forward slam, it's great. I think it'd be a nightmare to try dbb (or, gah, dual cannons) on this ship.

I took the tact version and built it like a raptor for fun. So long as you bounce between snare and subspace jump, it works fine in PvE(you do have to give up eng or tact slots tho). Would suck in PvP though.

That's what one would come to expect from a ship touted to be the "most advanced Klingon battle cruiser ever build"...
And you immediately thought all the equipment that came with it would be top notch?
I dont know man. That is quite the stretch.

Beams still the winner.
