Question about "Support Ships"

I was wondering,

How come silvers cant have Console-free versions of the support ships, so our Science captains dont have to use birds of prey to compensate? I honestly dont think it would be a bad thing to have these ships available to us.

    Because their aren't any. The only non BC/ BoP/ Raptor class ships in game are CStore ships, up until they entered the store (IIRC just before F2P Launch) there was nothing but the free ships available to the KDF until you hit LTG and had to visit the store anyway for the Kar'fi, Garumba and Marauder.
    Should also remember, Gold accounts don't get access to any different ships to Silvers, they just don't have to put Dilithium towards what is available.

    The Vo'Quv carrier is a great support ship available with your last free ship token or purchase via dilithium.

    Shield repair drones, siphon drones and high damage fighter pets.

    Its officer stations allows you to set it up to be a great support ship.

    I think the issue is even if you want a carrier you need to fly BOPs to get there.

    That being said I think it kind of feels right to be in a BOP for awhile as a Klingon but I understand it is not to everyone's taste.
