Hey guys,

i came back to this game and had some serious fun here! Now i bought some c-points and dinged 30.
I read about some consoles in c-store being really good and now can't decide, which ship to invest in.

Should i get the Pach raptor for the Graviton Pulse Gen
or
the Scourge destroyer for the Theta Vent?

Can't decide, which would be the better choice as a ship now for leveling and future play (as using the console on higher tier ships).

Any input/opinions/advice is much appreciated.

EDIT: I'm planning to get the Hegh'Ta as soon as I can get it to PvP.

    Depends on the amount of rage you want to see. Graviton Pulse is okay, but the theta vent is extremely powerful. Used in a BOP, it is one of the most annoying and effective p2w consoles available, outside of maybe tachyon drones or the aceton assimilator.

    It may be a lower ranked ship but the Qorgh Raptor Refit: SuQob Class and its BioNeural warhead is very useful if you plan to continue with raider and Raptor class ships.

    Oh, the bio-neural is awesome:) I couldn't manage without it. The isometric charge is interesting as well, but is a bit difficult to use because it jumps between random objects. I think I will be getting the vent theta console when I get the cash for it. I am a tac bop captain.

    Can someone translate for me, please?

    Pay2Win = p2w
    BOP = Bird of prey

    LOL

    Edit: misspelled play instead of pay...leave no kid behind!!!!!

    Actually P2w stands for pay to win due to a feeling held by some that the more powerful cstore ships give those who buy them an extra edge.

    You see the phrase pop up a lot more in other mmos where the cash shop is pushed more heavily.

    Back to the OP's question. You have a tough choice, both are very good. I would honestly say get both but if you have to choose between the two I would say the pulse. It is very effective on ships ranging from cruisers to even arguably carriers. Theta, while also good if not arguably OP, really necessitates a maneuverable or fairly maneuverable ship to use to its greatest effect.

    I don't PvP, but I do play Elite STFs. I find the Graviton Pulse Generator to be disappointing. It can be nice for blow-back (assuming your Aux is jacked up high enough (100+)), but even then the damage is meh. I'm thinking of removing it from my current build, though I haven't decided what to put in it's place.

    I don't have/haven't tried the Theta Vent yet. What's that one do, anyway?

    I have tried the Bio-Neural Warhead and Isometric Charge. Again, I felt these were lack-luster. I mean as with the Grav Pulse, they might have some specific uses, but they're gimmicks that (because of long cool-downs) can only be used occasionally, and if you're lucky you'll get a spectactual effect. Most of the time it's like >click< ho-hum.

    I'd rather have something more constant/guaranteed.

    Which is why I really love the Plasmonic Leech (from the T3 Vandal Destroyer). As far as I'm concerned, it's a must have for all my KDF ships. Fully specced into Flow Capacitors I can get +20ish (22 I think, I don't have my sheet in front of me) to All Sub-Systems. Oh, and depending on their resistances, my opponent loses a similar amount of power? Yes, please!

    It vents plasma I think behind your ship, the turn rate goes to stovokor and it damages crew and ship. Even as a bop player with high turnrate I can hardly turn.

    Ah. Thanks. So how does that differ from, and is it better/worse than, Eject Warp Plasma?

    like ewp you get stuck in it but theta also eats ur sheilds,kills ur crew, and is like a soft jam to.. its pretty OP at this point. its really a must have for space stfs not like they are all that hard anymore to begin with.

    Thanks to you all for your opinions.
    I got the Theta now because i found it handy in elite stfs as well as in pvp (where i try not to use it that often as I don't want to be tooooo cheesy :p ).
