Ok, first I'll admit this may be a little cheesy, but I just figured it'd be good to get into carriers a little to broaden my horizons. I tried it last night, although a lot of the kit was Mk X common so I'd expect it to work well with Mk XI blue or purple or better. It's currently using Polaron and the Jem'hadar set with a covariant shield, but I expect two piece Borg, two piece HG would work best... or full HG. It's also lacking the 35% cap console.
Weapons: 2 turrets and a beam array at each end.
Eng Consoles: EPS transfer, Borg console, Plasmodic Leech
Sci Consoles: 35% cap, 3 flow capacitors
Tac: Weapon specific
Hangars: Syphon pods
All in all it can totally pull the plug on an NPC, and a player ship without support can be in a bad spot too, the pods draw attention from myself and allies and it's healing/tanking capacity isn't that bad. Between the subsystem targeting and energy drain you can make life very difficult for an opponent. I'm using it with an engineering captain, the pertinent points of his spec being Flow Capacitors, and the ones that improve shields and hull strength. I'm also finding that it's best to roll in with aux maxed, but after very little time it's possible for everything to be maxed. Which if you're running off of two warpcores is only natural I suppose...
The main idea for it was to make the Borg cubes, Tac cubes, gates etc in STFs much quicker to take down, which is good in theory, but in practice it's dependant on having escorts with you to make the most of it, rare in a pug.:(
intresting build
so your building it up for max support and leaving some of the dps from the fighters?
im currently 1 lvl away from 50. but once i get there im getting the borg consol, the borg shield for the hull regen.
and then some other set for the other slots. wonder how the jem hadar space set would do for the vo'quv
I started running a drain build during the MACO bug. I used the Kar'fi so I could slot HYT3 for once they're shut down.
You could go 3 turrets in the rear for the leech proc and 2 or 3 torps up front with 3 torp Doffs. Especially with photons you can chew faster once you have the NPCs shut down. Then you're not quite as dependent on escorts. There are a couple of threads on getting up to like a torp per second.
Also the Breen set gives you a free drain attack which can free up the Siphon 2 slot.
Pretty much, although I've only been stress testing it against angry fed-balls in ker'rat so far, I wanted to tweak it a little more before trying PVP.
I wonder how this would be paired with a Varanus with Aceton, Repair Platform, and those little device turrets and fighters. Must be the most annoying team up in the game I would guess.
Wouldn't that share CDs with the existing ones though? Also how does Tyken's interract with Syphon, because if they share a CD it's optimised for syphon, not Tyken's. Both at once would be total brutal however.

Well the assimilatior console doesn't. Dunno about the rest, probably.
Tyken's, Energy Siphon, and the Breen special share a CD. The + to power levels from Siphon as opposed to Tyken's is pretty addicting. There's just something satisfying about seeing them maxed out. I think you can get the buff to last long enough to cycle a Tyken's in and drop another Siphon before it runs out.
I think with the shared cd on most of the drains there's room for some shield stripping too, especially on a Vo'Quv. If you go with Tyken's then a Tractor Beam with the shield stripping doff is a nice touch, or Tachyon Beam with the movement debuff doff. Tet Glider makes it easy to add in shield stripping that way, but you lose the Breen special.

Dont bother with siphon 2 and 3. Your drones alone will shut down anything ..including the unimatrix. Focuse those sci slots in gravity well and hazard 3 (you need that hull heal since the carrier shields are absolute garbage).

I've got a drain config myself, I run with;
4 Polaron Turrets and 2 Beam Arrays (Mk XI purple)
2 Siphon Pods
Full Borg set
Sub Space Jump, Leech Console, Aecton Module
4 Flow caps
1 Polaron console (Borg console in other slot)
Tac Team 1, Rapid Fire 1 and 2 (helps with the weapon proc)
Sci Team 1, Hazard 2, Energy Siphon 2 and 3
TSS1, Hazard 2
EPtS1, RSP1 and 2
In PvP, I send my pods at one person and then target another. I shut down 2 escorts at a time. The Borg set helps keep my going between skill cycles and the rapid fires keep my weapon proc up and running.
Just my skills and weapons (passive and active) I drain about 90+ from all systems versus someone without any defence from power drain. My pods will bring another player to a stand still on there own (again, someone without any defence).
Someone with defence from drain I will need to focus everything on them but I still get them and leave them just sitting there helpless.
Is it worth it to spec into "Driver Coil" for the hangar launched pets, either fighters or drones?
It says the skill improves em but not how and I cant find a thread about pet stats so far.
