When did Cryptic introduce the D7 Battle Cruiser skin?

As a life long Star Trek fan, especially of the Original Series, I was eager for Cryptic to introduce a KDF ship skin for the D7 Battle Cruiser.

I recently saw a player with it, and thought it was just a K'Tinga skin with very light colors.

But LO ! I just found in the KDF ship customizer that the D7 is an available skin for the Tier 3 Battle Cruiser, along with the K'Tinga ship skin.

Gosh darn it to heck, when did Cryptic introduce the D7 skin????? I may have missed it in some patch notes, or just never looked when my Klingon was at Commander level (a year and a half ago).

So a belated THANKS to Cryptic !!!

And now a back-hand insult to Cryptic: Hey, Cryptic, you have all the new Free to Players coming into the game, and some may be avid TOS fans (you should see the crowd of Tier 1 ships in orbit over Vulcan all the time LOL), and of those fans, some may start KDF characters, who will immediately be eligible for the Tier 3 Battle Cruiser with the optional D7 skin.

So Cryptic, WHY DON'T YOU ADVERTISE IT ???? Advertise the TOS Constitution Class more with the TOS bridge, ship interior, Jeffries Tubes, etc. AND ALSO PROMOTE the D7 ship skin, for the TOS faithful. Huh???

Okay, when, exactly? A date of the release notes would be nice. A link to the forum post would be better.

    Release notes are advertizing? Seriously?

Publishing an announcement buried in website forums are NOT advertizing !

They can make a trailer for upcomng feature episodes, yet not bother with a trailer showing some classic Star Trek ships. Tsk tsk.

That I can not provide... mainly because I am too lazy to go through threads from more than a year ago... I bet you can understand.

Release notes are advertising in Cryptics eyes yea... I mean... look around the interwebs... How many ads for STO F2P have you seen before and after F2P launch.

Well, I skimmed all of the Release Notes, and didn't see any mention of the D7 skin.

That doesn't mean you are totally and utterly wrong.

But come on! How can anyone get jazzed up about something if it is buried in a mountain of text discussing numerous powers and skills and UI changes, etc.

It's a shame we cannot search for the term "D7" in the forums, the search string is too short :(

Being able to make a D7 lookalike at the ship customizer has been around a very, very long time. There have been several player authored threads about how to tweek the appearance. A little searching will probably find them.
I'll bet if you would have asked any KDF player, either in game or on the forums, at any time, you would have learned of it a long time ago.
Cryptic making a trailer for a mission series has never happened before, and hailing it like it's the second coming or something shows how long it's been since they released any new missions...

Hey I agree with you... Cryptic sucks at advertising the good things, but have a talent for advertising the things that make people flame them...

    ...or ignoring them.
    The D7 and K't'inga models are broken...again.
The high-res models (that have glowing parts) are shown at great distances while the low-res models are shown a close distance.
This error exists for about a year now.
Before Season 5, I asked the Cap'n if he could poke the proper person to get this fixed.
Since he's the great guy he is, he did and it was fixed in a patch.
    Season 5 went live
    and
    it's
    broken
    ...again.

I wonder if it takes another 10 months to get this fixed again...for exactly one patch.

The D-7 variant skin for the K't'inga has been around for a loooooong time, a while before the Devidian Feature Series actually.

I've been petitioning for them to use the correct D-7 skin in all the 'past missions'. Like the Fed missions that have you go back to the past, and the Devidian mission. All those missions incorrectly use the TMP K'T'inga variant skin, and not the appropriate D-7 skin.
