Vo'Quv's Crew

So anyway, I finally got my Vo'Quv and to say the least, it's the most fun I've had in space combat since starting the game.

However, that being said I've seen something that has gotten slightly irritating.

The crew dies faster than I can blink. It's as if they are throwing themselves on sharp objects in there! I start the fight with all 4,000 crew and within a minute I have less than 500! It seemingly doesn't matter what I'm fighting, be it Borg, Romulans, Feds or Cardies; my crew is in the toilet within almost seconds.

I have science and engineering consoles that boost crew recovery and guard against crew death, but nothing seems to help. I find I operate with >500 crew!

Launching fighters does not drain crew does it? Even if it did I didn't launch 3,500 crew worth of fighters!

Where are they going and how do I get them back! (rhetorical question).

The Vo'Quv's crew is one of it's upsides. It's supposed to give you a tremendous boost to your hull repair rate and the rate of subsystem repair, and yet I find I go from 170% hull repair a minute to 6% hull repair...

Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone fixed it?

    Yep.
And somehow they can get pulverized and still come back.
Also, the doffs or Bo's never get injured because they put on there seatbelts

Any conceivable way of fixing this?

I'd like to have at least 2,000 crew...

There are ways of mitigating it. But in the long run it is a rather silly mechanism
