Duty Officer House Play Idea

I've been reading some threads on how to incorporate the great houses into game play. Some are fairely good while others seem to be sheer fantasy. Anyway I haven't seen anything on trying to use the duty officer system to do something with the great houses, so here's my idea on doing that.

Once a player unlocks Klingon play, he/she gets to choose one of the 24 great houses. Each house has an sigil/emblem/sign associated with them, but the player has to earn the right to wear that sigil on his/her uniform and/or ship.

The way to do that would be to use his/her duty officer security personnel to do the following assignments to earn points with the house he/she serves:

Assignment -- Risk:

Spy on rival house -- Medium
Discredit rival house -- Medium
Duel miner rival house member -- High
Raid rival house -- High
Assassinate minor house member -- High
Foil assassination attempt -- High
Counter espionage -- Medium
Foil discredit plot -- Medium
Spread false rumor on rival -- Low
etc.

Rewards for assignments: similar to what we get now.
Rewards for gaining levels: Mentioned above, the right to display house badge on uniform, on the outside of the ship, interior of the ship, a title of some sort, etc.

And that's it. I figure this is one way to make the houses part of the game for the Klingons. One thing though, this would just be one step in introducing house play into the game. I like the idea of the player being more involved in currying favor with his/her chosen house. Going on missions both ground and space with some PvP thrown in should be the end goal of using houses in the game. And they should be used, there is too much to be mined from that aspect of Klingon society to ignore.

Like all of these. The greater the range of DOff missions the more choices we can make to focus.

    This is another excellent idea!
