Vandal Weapon setup ... opinions?

Hey

just got a Vandal Destroyer for my Nausican Captain.

I was thinking of:

Front.
2 Dual Heavy cannons (no type set)
1 Torpedo Launcher (no type set)

Rear

2 Turrets.

The idea being is if I can drop their shields on the first pass I can get a torp salvo in. The turrets will add fire power to the forward batteries.

Then As i'm circling for another pass I can keep some pressure on their shields

Opinions? also Which weapon type would you suggest? Disrupters?

Rik

would this be considered to be too many energy weapons? Should I switch the 2nd turret out for a mine layer?

Yes. Disruptors, Quantums, and you're out in the cold dark on mines. Really you can do it if you like to. They are fun.

depends what effect your looking for. Disruptors are good all around weapon, and pretty viscious on their debuff.

for the destroyer, the build is sound, You have 4 energy weapons firing at the same time, which is a game limitation (without FAW, CSV) so you maximize the attack up front, and the torp in front is best. Yes your rear will hurt some with the lower DPS from turrets, but then again your going for maximum punch.

    2 DHC Disruptors, 1 Quantum
    2 turrets Disruptors

for that level will do some serious damage.

If you want move coverage, go to 2 DBA with FAW or better Beam Overload if youfind it rougher to keep targets in the smaller arc of the cannons (turn speed)

Currently I'm running with 2 x Plasma Heavy Dual Cannons Mk VI and a MK VI Plasma torpedo Launcher up front.

And 2 x Tetryon Turrents Mk VI in the rear.

The plasma torp at point blank range is working well ... even if i do get a touch singed.

The Tetryon turrets seem good too as they drain the target's shields nicely from time to time.

I'm tempted to move over to Tetryon completely.
