Starting Ship

Just started my first Klingon character who is tactical. The starting ship is a bird of prey escort, forget the name. Is there a different starting ship for the engineer and medical characters?

    Welcome to the KDF.:)

    Our selection of ships has never been very high and of course the most recent additions have all been in the department of "plus one" meaning they are all for money.

    As it stands right now the BoP is actually the only non-CStore "science ship" we've got so you can set your universal BO slots in a way that may hopefully satisfy your needs for science slots.
    In the Engineering Depatment there should stil be the Ka'tanco around (should meaning I don't honestly know whether Cryptic deactivated the ship but it used to be there).
    But for your first rank I don't think you'll need any other ship as you'll outlevel it rather quickly.

    Well, I started an engineering character to find out, and he also got the commander level bird of prey to start. I really wanted to start with the D7 cruiser, which is commander level, but it does not appear that I can. It seems that the only starting ship now (as klingon players start at level 20) is the one bird of prey variant.

    The universal slots help make it anything you want.
