So, one of my equipped DOffs is gone. He was on the active ground roster and just... disappeared. Sadly he was the Automated Personnel Unit, Very Rare, had a cool ability and can't be reclaimed now.
Is this happening to a lot of people? And uh, do you folks at Cryptic have any plans to prevent this in the future and restore lost DOffs?
I was mailing a dev about this last night - had the same thing, not heard if it's a known issue etc, but you are not alone - same Doff etc.
I've been gone on a trip for the last week, but have been following the forums for any new updates. I'm a bit worried that this may have been caused by a couple things, but can't really test it myself until I get back.
Did the players who have this bug occur have a full duty officer list (100/100) when they lost their officer? It's possible that when active officers were modified, they were 'sent' back to the inactive roster. If it was full, any DOffs in excess were simply lost, without any overflow inventory for them. I seem to recall an issue like this in the past, long before overflow inventories existed.
I'm pretty sure that I had a full roster on one character with those doffs in my active roster, so if I get back on Tuesday with them missing, I can bet that's the issue. It might take a while, but I'm sure it's a fixable issue, especially if Cryptic keeps roster logs of characters before and after patches (like I believe they do for all other inventories).
Lost mine on brand new characters so again not a full roster, on inspection all my KDF APUs disappeared and 1 Fed one. All very odd, hopefully Heretic has had some useful PMs and will get chance to take a look this week.
We're still working on this. I will let you know as soon as I know something solid.
Do you still need more examples to get logs? I've been telling people to PM you in game when they mention this issue. Don't want to keep flooding your mailbox if they're not needed anymore

If it helps my automated personnel unit is gone as well. Also you mentioned it might be a problem with the officers being flagged to make them invisible in someway. Is their any reason they should ever have such a flag?

I suspect we're good on logs for now, but I will let you know if Software requests more. Thanks for all the data, guys.
We'll figure something out to get people's duty officers back; what exactly depends on what the problem winds up being.
Thanks. Glad to know it, if it was one from a recruitment exercise I'd not worry as much, but as one I know I won't get again it would have upset me a touch
I noticed that i still have my APU on the toons i checked, but in every case it is now an armory officer instead of a systems engineer like when i first claimed it, although still located in the engineering area. Of course the various reward doffs from the weekend event are all in the wrong areas too, so who knows...

I think I have the departments and specializations straightened out dataside here, so when that fix is pushed it should all be consistent.
Just wanted to let you guys know we've managed to find the smoking gun for at least one case of a duty officer vanishing from the active roster. We don't yet know why it's happened, but now that we know where to look we should be close to figuring out the problem.
The Exocomp reward from this weekends Soff System Event is missing on at least one of my toons, sent in a bug ticket. Checking the others as we speak now.

We've figured out the problem, but getting everything repaired will probably have to wait until the build that is currently scheduled to go out after the New Year.

Question: What will happen to those folks who may or may not have noticed missing Doffs - and are at the Doff Cap (IE have 100 Doffs in their list) when the fix to return the missing Doffs goes live? Will there be a 'Doff Overflow bag' of sorts where we can look at the 'returned Doffs and decide if we want to make room for them again, or just dump them?

Figuring out all that is one of the reasons it is taking a little while.

Any chance you can give us some details so we can try and avoid DOffs going MIA while we wait for a fix?

Oh, and Heretic, I wish I could give you a better time range for the incident, but I know it was sometime after the last patch big patch.
Fortunately, he/she survived the rigors of the mission, but failed miserably at getting successful results...
Perhaps it was good thing afterall...

Nope. My character who lost his APU didn't even have close to a full roster. 50/100ish actually.

May I ask, is it possible we might get these Doffs back? If not could the Tribble reward doffs e opened up to claim again?

Same here, it went missing on *THREE* of mine.
My Automated Personnel Unit has yet to return. I just checked.

Thanks Heretic for chasing the beggars down
I would recommend keeping the Tribble reward and Duty Officer weekend duty officers off of your Active Roster until the patch after Jan 1st.
