The way I understand it, cannibals eat white & green tribs & leave blue & purple alone. I have no idea if they eat food or not.

Mine doesn't seem to have touched food - I keep one around to control tribbles in my inventory. I did test with a couple tribbles I could reclaim on the C-store, and it didn't touch them. It's description seems to suggest it won't eat any Klingon-compatible tribbles, which would still leave some higher quality tribbles at risk (triolic and cryo), but the C-store unlocks safe.

How do you even breed one?

I would love to have one, but I can never figure out how to breed the darn thing.

Feed baked tribble or tribble kebabs (from KDF shipboard missions), or a tribble carcass (what's left when a cannibal tribble eats a tribble) to any tribble, and you'll get a cannibal tribble.

The cannibal tribble was an awesome idea, I must say. Love it. I can't keep it in the bank with my tribble collection, but it has made friends with my Klingon Eng. boff.

Contrary to popular belief, cannibals are quite discerning, and Cannibal Tribbles should only eat Tribbles. Moreover, they aren't snooty either, so they'll pass up the special blue Tribbles.

    That's just awesome BTW.
I remember finding one in my klinks inventory there was a tribble with this toothy grin.

According to the STOWiki tribble carcasses will not make a cannibal tribble.

Also, I just tried it based on what you posted above. I put a tribble [spa] and a tribble carcass in my inventory and have not popped a cannibal yet.

Tribble carcasses are currently only used for the Tribble bounty assignment for the KDF. Cannibal Tribbles will not eat carcasses. They like their food squirming.

They were saying that feeding a carcass to a normal tribble will turn it into a cannibal.

Can we get a Non-combat version of this that has a leash and follows us around?

I unfortunately have one running free on my ship.....
It nibbles me toes late at night. Most disturbing.

this tribble reminds me of the Glommer from TAS. Maybe they could change it later to the Glommer.

It doesn't seem to eat blue tribbles at all, I've had one in my inventory for a while and my Triolic has always been safe.

Well, it could roll or bounce and occassionally eat something nearby in a single mouth widening gulp.

Does anyone know if Cannibal Tribbles will eat other Cannibal Tribbles, or do they only like white tribbles, and if they do, do they eat white tribbles first, if available? I have 3 in my bank with plenty of white tribbles for them to feast on, but i don't want to come back some day and see only 1 Cannibal sporting a toothy grin.

Cannibal Tribbles will not eat other Cannibals, nor will they eat "special" tribbles like the Cryo or Borg tribbles. The tribble they eat is randomly determined from among the valid tribbles available.

Mine has yet to munch on my Triolic tribble, and I keep both on my captain at all times. One for damage reduction purposes, and another for making lots of noise at the exchange with.

The tooltip for it leads me to believe the Gamma Quadrant tribble is safe as well, since that one's apparently super aggressive thanks to the Ketracel.

    but but but they SHOULD!!
i wanna breed a Carnivorous tribble that eats other tribbles. That would be the KDF final solution the the infestation.
The Carnivorous tribble has a small chance of breeding a Predatory Tribble.
Predatory Tribbles eat other tribbles AND is a combat pet that flys at opponents (Lunge+tribble Scream) and inflicts Cuteness Damage!

Any chance of getting this changed to a ranged device similar to a grenade that when clicked on, instead of petting and damaging ourselves, we throw it at an enemy for a DOT?

You have to feed "Baked Tribble" to any tribble to get a cannibal. You can find baked tribble on the exchange or from the KDF Duty Assignment "Prepare Baked Tribble for Captain".

Carcasses are not tagged as tribble food. Currently, only feeding a Baked Tribble or Tribble Kebob to a tribble will result in a Cannibal Tribble.
