No idea? seems it should be possible for all cloaking vessels.
Possibly its to inforce a more social feel to the game?

I do seem to remember that cloaks were used far more often while travelling at warp speed in the show. While I can appreciate the social aspect, I wouldn't mind if cloaks were enabled in sector space. Its not like cloaking really makes you invisible (outside of combat anyway), in effect its just a cosmetic change and everyone can still see you.

On a related note, i'd personally like cloaks to behave a little differently, in that they truly render you invisible to both allies and enemies unless they have advanced enough sensors to detect you, or you are on the same team as them. While it may be a small point with no real benefit to gameplay, it would make cloaks seem more real, at least to me. Just my personal opinion :p

The ability to cloak in sector space would be a great addition. I never understood why we couldn't in the first place.

In addition to this, if a player is cloaked in sector space, they should arrive in a system still cloaked. And if they leave a system cloaked, they should appear in sector space cloaked. This would be immensly helpful for KDF players who enter Kerrat to find Fed players spawn camping.

*Ahem* KDF players do the same...
    ;)

Not only cloak in sector space, why not be able to fight as well?

Once a long time ago we used to be able to cloak in sector space, not any more. I don't remember why they took it out.
It may have something to do with the fact hey were toying around with the idea of letting klings in fed space but flaged as open pvp. If you were cloaked it would defeat the purpose. They probably did both sides to.make it fare.

With not being able to see allies at least for the Klingons would probably not be that accurate. One would have to think they had a way of detecting clocked ship while they were in formation. On the topic it would. E great to be able to be clocked in sector space.

Iwas under the impression that from cloaked warfare was not possible due to energy constraints?
the Chang BoP being the exception.

You're quite right; aside from a few exceptions ships under cloak do not have the power to use weapons or shields. However, chessie5882 may have been expressing a wish to enter combat in sector space.

Yeah it would make sense for the Klingons to have some way of detecting each other under cloak, but probably not in every situation. Different/rival houses would certainly want to be able to conceal their activities and movements from each other. I think my comment in my previous post is an acceptable compromise; members on the same team would be able to see each other under cloak as they do now.

Yes Roach That's what I meant, open some areas of sector space so not only can we cloak but fight as well. Not while cloaked of course, the Klingon who kills without showing his face has no honor!

Yup. As I recall, Chang's ship could only fire torpedos, and when the Enterprise hit it with just one torpedo, the ship was severely damaged as well as exposed. It very easily became a sitting duck.

First they need to fix the bug that decloaks you when you get one of the hundreds of pop-ups.... I hate pop-ups....

What would be the point in being cloaked in sector space?

If they ever got around to putting in Open PvP Raids it would be a way for KDF player base to hit an run a system before all the Feds arrive.

I agree. And I also hate when Kerrat resets and you immediatly get hit by energy weapons, dropping your cloak for not good reason.

I would love to be able to cloak in sector space. I remember paying Klingon Academy and getting told off if I forgot to cloak before warping to a mission objective. Makes sense really, have a BoP warp in in reality it would be picked up on long range sensors even if you cloaked afterward the enemy would still be aware that you were in the area and probably go to yellow/red alert. Warping in cloaked would make the surprise of decloaking and attacking much more believable.
