Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search but didn't find a thread about this.
How do we get our starter packs of KDF duty officers? I found the Duty Officer guy in the Academy, but he was only trying to sell me duty officers. On the Fed side, we get duty officers stating at Lt. 8 and you get more at Lt. Cdr. So, by my reckoning, I should have at least 3 packs of duty officers, because I'm a Commander 2, but how do I claim them? I can get my duty officers for testing on Tribble, but that is only 3 duty officers, that won't get the job done.
It's sad. I didn't like KDF because it felt like an afterthought. I decided to try it with the release of Season 5 to see if it got any more love. It, apparently, has not. Broken defense missions that are supposed to give dilithium and now this? Sheesh, how is a person supposed to enjoy KDF play?
After the patch, I'll have to wander around Qo'noS (Academy and First City) and see if I can find it. It has to be there somewhere.
Thanks for the link. I've only been playing since August, so I didn't know the whole story. In fact, I got my 100 day vet award 2 days ago.
It's really sad. So few ST games give you the ability to play as anything but Fed. Cryptic had a golden opportunity to really make something cool with ST's first RPG Klingon gameplay and they've really bungled it. I was stoked when I was reading about this game before buying it because I found out that I could play as a Klingon, and it's been disappointing so far. I get more enjoyment playing my as Klingon Starfleet tac officer than playing as a KDF officer. (though, I am using the KDF officer to buy and send bat'leths to the Fed Klingon )
Klingons get their starter pack after their tutorial - so about level 23, if I recall correctly. Their additional level-up packs are every few levels after that up to I believe 41.
If you have hit these points and are not getting it, bug it, or let me know what the exact circumstances are, and I will look into the issue.
I do try to do a fairly thorough sweep of the boards, but for duty officer issues the most reliable place to post is in the new Duty Officer subforum under the Feedback section, and we'll check out any issues.
When you get the freebie packs really should be added to the Klingon Rewards (and the fed equiv) screen. It does tell you when it unlocks, but not when you get the duty packs.
Anyway, me, I have a Klingon character that was too low to get even the initial batch, but the duty officer system is already unlocked, because I am 18+. What I did with that character was snag every recruitment mission I could get. Hung around the academy, with quick stops into the city, system space, and sector space. Takes a bit, but I'm building up the number of duty officers.
Well, you guys were right on the money. Level 23: Duty officers.
As soon as I got promoted, I got my first set, plus I unlocked the ones from the C-store for playing on Tribble. I went back and did the "meet and greet" tutorial missions. I skipped those previously because I've done them in the past, but I did them anyway to get up to level 23. That way, I can send my duty officers on some assignments while I'm doing the first storyline mission.
Heretic said it was just that you had to be level 23. (and that's when I got them) I don't think what missions you do matters, as long as you reach 23.
I like the Klingon duty officer missions even better than the Federation ones. I executed one of my duty officers for incompetence last night. (that will show the rest ) Sure, I lost a duty officer, but it was still fun to do. Too bad the Federation is too soft to let you do things like that. We need a Terran Empire faction, those guys know how to party and I already have the uniforms.

Well, not sure you're aware of what has transpired over the years, so I'll just leave this here for you to get the whole picture:

Anywho, thanks to everyone who replied.
