I looked at the calendar...and we have something called a "puyjaq" that will be released soon as a ship...at least, I think it is Klingon. It might just be Fed -- one of the minor races. I honestly do not know. I did a search on the forums...and no joy. I can only assume that if this is a Klingon vessel, that it is likely the Raider we have been expecting.
So - first issue -- anyone know what this is?
Second issue...and this sort of bothers me a bit...but I thought that Klingons were to be brought up to speed in comparison to the Feds...or at least some parity achieved. However, on the ship side, that is not yet the case. There have been a total of two Klingon vessels released so far...two special consoles. With the next release, there will be three Klingon vessels...the problem is that on the Fed side, they are up to eight or nine new vessels with new consoles, if I am not mistaken. Or is it six? Still...even at six of the new-style consoles, that is a two to one release trend...
So...I guess my question is this -- even with all of the attention supposedly focused on the Klingons...is the new ship release schedule still about two or three new Fed vessels for every Klingon vessel released?
The issue is not that there are lots of Klingon ships still on Tribble...the same rules apply for Las Vegas as it does a test server...what can happen on Tribble...can easily stay on Tribble. That was true during the initial STO beta when we all thought that the Klingons were going to be released in a much more finished state than they were -- i don't mean to continue beating a dead horse...but when two fed ships are released, instead of one fed, one kdf, as planned, and the next release is one fed, one KDF...it has me scratching my head, since that is essentially a 3 to 1 release ratio, when prior releases have all been 1 to 1. I also find it odd since reportedly many of those lower tier KDF ships are already on Tribble..and have been there for a while.
Maybe I am worried for no reason though. That is likely...after all, the changes are coming, right?
However, if Cryptic is reading this...how about changing your mind about the upcoming ship releases..and instead of one fed, one kdf, releasing two KDF vessels instead?
I do find it interesting, to say the least, that they intend to release the ship without ever testing it.
Well, there's still two weeks left until it's released on Holodeck. And besides, the Calendar hardly means anything these days, considering they'll just edit the Calendar and move the window up another week or so...or they'll just not release the ship at all. (E.g. Where's the KDF's "Raider (C-Store)" ship that was supposed to be released one week ago? Mind you, the ship is still planned -- regardless of the fact that the Calendar has since been updated -- to be released within the 27th to the 29th of October - maybe we'll be experiencing some time travel? )
Personally, I'm ust ****ed that we can't test these new powers on redshirt, as opposed to tribble where real world money needs spent to test them.
Fouther to that point, Cryptic are probably doing it to skew their 'market research'. They will see that people are buying the new ships with consoles, so they will use that as justification to make moar of them. When in reality people only wanted to test the ships and have little to no intention of actually buying them.
Revo is right, Many KDF ships are comming to Holodeck Eventually and the Grand KDF Revival and Fleshing out is to come sometime after F2P.
Though I would not expect it right at the Release of F2P.
If you haven't tried or done it yet, jump on Tribble and at least look at the new ships.
You may be surprised in a pleasant way for a change concerning the KDF.
Things I find irritatiing about the new ships is...
You have no way anymore to fly them "free" on the test server, like you used to be able to on Tribble...
Every single new ship for the Klingons is Cstore only...every last one...
Would it have hurt to just have 1 or 2 up as earnable through other means?
And for me, being able to "take em for a test ride" usually seals the deal if I'm thinking about buying it.
It worked for the Grumba and VorKang, both of which were able to be flown as "experimental ships" for a while on Tribble. Flew them once liked em enought to buy them.
On the Tribble server I used the awarded test points to buy 2 ships, one had no console and later when the console finally showed, I was majorly underwhelmed at it's effectiveness.
The other was the one with the quad Cannons, which also proved to be very underwhelming...
They all look awesome, I'll give them that, but good enough to shell out more RL money for over and above what I've spent already...meh...

2 orion
2 gorn
2 nausicaan
2 birds of prey
2 raptors
klingon flasghip
so there will be a period of mostly klingon ships coming along, although they will never have the same numbers as the feds.
i would not be surprised if this is the raptor coming. hopefully it will hit redshirt soon for testing.
