i dont think there is, but hopefully they will add it.

i think its a nice feature to have, as when lots of stuff is going on, you can occasionally miss a console you need but the option to turn it off would be perfect.

I like them on mission maps, although they could be brought down to eye level for really tall objectives on ground maps. In some cases, the icons are way above the head of my very tall characters. I can't image that they would be visible for very short characters in those cases.

However, I am not so fond of them on social maps like ESD. For instance, when you go into the exchange, it becomes a room full of interaction icons.

In summary, I think they are a nice new feature. They just need a bit of refinement.

There really needs to be a way to turn them off. They look horrible in screenshots, especially when positioned right where you'd rather have the camera, like in front of the Captain's chair on my bridge.

Ugly as hell. Who came up with that ridiculous idea?

To the Dev's and Fellow Players and long time fellow Lifetime subscribed players...

I have played this game since the week it launched in beginning of Feb. 2010, and granted there were times I had minor ( VERY MINOR ) difficulty finding a missing console or object, BUT at the start of season 4 the dev has improved on making the interactive objects/consoles more visible by having that 'bottom to top scanner lines' to show an interactive object/console are nearby. That is more than PLENTY of visual aids already, and we average players Thank You for that...

But these new eyesores of visual-noises are extreme overkills in trying to "help" those bad eyesights that needs to be checked out, and telling players how dumb and blind some players must be to the dev's to need that 'IN-YOUR-FACE' visual help like saying, "Do you see it now? Huh? Huh? Do ya, Mr. 'I can't find those blasted interactive objects in PvE missions to complete my missions, boo-hoo-hoo..whah-whah-whah...', well how do ya like it now?"

Ok, they got the message, so please, PLEASE tone it down by removing them because they're killing the realism 'feels' of this game. I mean, seriously, would any of you want to do that devidian mission called "What Lies Beneath" if there were these crazy interactive icons down there everywhere?? I only want them on anomolies like a few of those data-samples or chances of particle tracers is ALL I want like forever before in the game since its launched. Now it's no longer fun and no longer has that realism feels in the game with these annoying eyesores of interactive icons everywhere!

Ok, so make those interactive icons like the sector space 'astrometrixs' to have it as an ( optional feature ), as well, especially for those very few players that must think they're cool and helpful( roll eyes* ), so that I personally can enjoy this game again. Like I said, the only place I want to see them is on surface or in space to indicate where a space anomolies( data samples/ particle tracers ) are. Thanks!

I'm glad you brought this up. Been wondering if anyone else had noticed. I do hope they implement a switch so we can turn them off. I was sitting in my command chair and that icon is just far enough that it stays on ruining the immersion factor.

So please Devs do away with them or give us the option to turn them off, thanks for listening...

While i support the idea behind the need and use for this, its great for new players especially, i do believe there needs to be an option to disable this also. I don't see why this can't have some form of an Astrometics on/off button for ground in the corner of your screen, at the very least anyway. Either that or some option in the gameplay menu.

I'm all for you adding things to the UI etc, and what you have done so far on Tribble is looking great. But please understand that you won't please everyone, and one of the only ways to address this is by giving player the option to choose whether they want this or don't.

I hate them hate them hate them.

I have actually found myself playing with the objective of taking a cool screenshot because this game is beautyfull, but those enormous orange pointers simply ruin all ground screenshots.

Apparently consoles that flash or are otherwise lit up aren't intuitive enough for the quality of players Cryptic is expecting to get, so they had to add gears to everything you can interact with.

This does not bode well for STO.

Definately not a fan of the interact icons. It just more useless screen fodder in social zones. I've never not been able to find a console when I've needed to look. Please take them away...or make it so we can turn them off.
