The 10 minute cool down on weapons satellites almost make it not worth the chain of doff missions to get,
Should be like 5 minutes with a limit on how many can be deployed like scorpions, a limit of one would work, so say some how satellite survives 5 minutes, then it would despawn when you deploy next one.

Hahaha.. I have the preorder console version and I've never had a turret last longer than 5-10 seconds. As soon as one gets dropped, it seems like every enemy on the map targets it.
10 minutes *is* a joke for something that takes up any slot that just doesn't last and is even stationary to boot. The scorpions have a much lower cooldown and they follow you around (if they don't suicide themselves in enemy explosions).

Scorpions and satellites have same purpose, cannon fodder to take enemy guns off you, while you regen.
I've had phaser sat last 3 minutes in a red alert but not against command ship all the drones attack it.
wont catch me usin one of these. Hardly if ever use the scorpion fighters, kind of useless. Aint worth the trouble of redoin the mission to pick up the fighters again and crafting the turrets either through doff or crafting is a real pain the neck for an item thats consumed on use.

Agreed, but, I've *rarely* had my Scorpions shot at by the enemy. In fact, on one ship where I had TR Beam, I was able to push the exploding enemy ship far enough away from the scorpions so they didn't get caught in the explosion, and they followed me through a whole system patrol. Even if the turret were to survive, it'd be stuck where I dropped it. Plus, Scorpions shoot both disruptors and launch torpedoes.
Scorpions are *much* better than Turrets by a long shot, at least in my mind.

My sci va uses a multi vector , between mv, scorpions, photonics fleet, fleet support( when my hull is low)
And once sat goes live Borg run and hide when I enter system:rolleyes:
I love it. It is a consumable gimmick.
But crafting it via Doffs felt much more gratifying then anything I crafted on Memory Alpha. I actually had to pull resources from very different places to pull it off, unlike go there, farm a million data samples and click a button.
Plus the turret is a heavy turret, so it lasts longer then the light turret preorder item and there are many different kinds to match your prefered weapon type. It would be cool however if you could craft a purple version as well with a critical success that would give you unlimited supply. The long cooldown is also a non issue for me, cause the limited supply I have makes me carefully decide where to drop one anyway. So it is by no means meant to be spam.
And you can hotswap devices even during a battle so it wont take up a device slot while on cooldown.

Well done, more of this please, Cryptic.
I traded a science officer to get the Engineer Technician I was missing to do it.
