"I lose more Science Cadets that way"

I've noticed during the Starfeet Academy events, if a particle turns out to be a Klingon Officer, sometimes the Klingon attacks and defeats the Science Cadet, and then once the Cadet falls unconcious, he/she vanishes before I have a chance to revive him/her.

Are they supposed to be like temporary BOffs or something akin to Security Escorts?

    I've learned not to neuro neutralize the Klingons because of that. :D

    I don't bother with the cadet and just go and get the particles by myself. No need for me to worry about holographic Klingons cutting their way through the newest members of Starfleet.

    What does the cadet even do anyway? I haven't noticed any effect on my achievements.
