Captain promotion mission will not resolve without accepting a new ship. I simply do not want to buy a ship of this level, and would like to carry the earned Dilithium over to my RA Level.
Reports from other players have indicated there is NO discount for RA ship, if you haven't resolved your captain promotion. Why is this??
I skipped the LT Commander ship (pre patch) and carried forward the Dilithium earned to Commander level. The LT Commander mission resolved without me taking a new ship, Why won't the Captain level, or subsiquent levels further up?
I had the same issue at RA lower. I can't drop the mission and now I can't get a promotion to RA upper. So in short. You can't save your dilithium, and oh yeah you can't get enough to buy a new ship.

Has anyone else had this?
Yep, there is at least one other thread on this in this section of the forum. The bug/oversight will happen anytime you try to bypass your new ship purchase (you can't bypass it).
Can someone please respond to this question / request? Pre-patch one could skip a ship tier to carry over into their next rank. Now this is against the rules, and you are locked into buying a ship.
Why is this?
A few (or many) of us were fine with the ship economy the way it was setup first on Tribble, and decided to be frugal, and save for the ship classes we wanted. Prior to the patch, we could resolve promotion missions without taking a ship.
Why are people who save Dilithium being forced to spend it now?
