Well first off it didn't give me very much, only a couple hundred refined dilithium, and I Dare you to find someone in ESD who wants to trade for it and give me something for the amount I got, its not going to happen.
But originally I was figuring hey I got this dilithium I can go trade for more bridge officers, I got to Star Fleet academy, talked to a Thundercat and it turns out he wants a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT form of currency that isn't tracked by the assets window, and from what I can tell needs a conversion from diplomatic points to Duty officer Tokens.
Why does it have to be like that? I mean fine if you don't want us buying Duty officers with dilithium fair enough, but why in the holy love of hell does the game give you ore that isn't even part of that exchange system for reassigning? And why does it have to be in such incredible insignificant amounts?

So when you get Diplomacy Tier 1, Lt. Ferra (the 'thundercat') hails you and you get to pick which doff you want.
However, some people click past that menu, so they had to put him in person at SFA so those people could still get their doffs.
purchasing Doffs with dilithium is still a ways off.
