A Thread for Positive Feedback

So there are many places where complaints and criticism of the new build are being voiced. I'm complaining in some of them too. However, there are some things about the new game that I really like, so I'm starting a thread where people can say what is good about it.

Please don't use this to argue and complain. There are plenty of threads to do that. Let this be the one place where the Devs can quickly see what they're doing right.

So you started a thread telling us that you have been complaining in many threads, and that you want a positive thread, but then you fail to state anything positive about the changes yourself.

So what exactly is it that you like?

To start, here are my favorite things:
    1) I love the new leveling pace. Especially KDF, where I finally feel like it's not going to be a horrible chore to level up. Even though I had to go through all of Commander rank in a Tier 2 ship, it still went by at a pace that was exciting. My Tribble Fed character is higher in a week than my current leveling character on Holodeck (who's been ignored for months).

    2) The Duty Officer system is great. I definitely want more and more of it. It's fun and interesting, and I'm hoping it will get more so as I get higher rank and have more DOffs.

    3) I think the dilithium economy has potential. You can see my complaints in other threads if you want, but here I'll just say that I think it will be fine.

    4) I only had one "PvE event" experience so far (The Mirror Universe invasion), but it was fun and exciting, and highly rewarding.

Refresh the page and see. I wanted to separate the purpose of the thread from my personal comments. Patience, young padawan.

The Doff system and Events do have potential, but unfortunately, with everything else that's going on...

I like the DOff system and I'm very excited about all the things that have NOT changed... most everything else belongs in the rubbish bin.

I love the new doff system as well.

I also love all of the polish they are putting on some of the stuff, like the interior of DS9. It is gorgeous now and really looking forward to many visits there on Holodeck when it hits.

I also like that the economy is becoming a bit more complex and interesting compared to before.

Can't wait to see what else will be coming out, especially with the new feature series when it arrives!

I've loved this game since release, and I truly feel the game is being gutted and disemboweled. I like the DOFF system though.

The Doff system is great, and i think Dilithium has some potential as long as it gets a huge overhaul.

    1) Doff system is awesome.
    2) I completed my first stf ever and i really enjoyed it, really like the fact its broken into ground and space.
    3) epic stf loot is epic.
    4) mirror universe event is cool. want more of those.
    5) new journal/calendar is very nice.
    6) one currency instead of 50.
    7) the fact purple items will now be harder to get - yes I think they should be time consuming.
    8) changes to the tutorial are minor but still quite nice.

I like the DOFF system as well. My only concern is that I seem to keep getting Doffs with the diplomatic, FF, and teamwork traits. I hardly get any that have logical, agressive, or telepathic traits. I have one with the honorable trait.

Something else I would like to add. I feel closer to my DOFFs than I do my own BOFFs.... I find this interesting. Perhaps we should be given the ability to send a BOFF along on a mission with DOFF's to greatly increase chances. The risks would be the same for losing the BOFF as the DOFF.

I love the Doff system but needs a lot of improvement, you cant charge 50k credits to do a mission when you barely have 20K in bank, at lower levels the requirements for your Doff should not be that exagerated.

Positive you say... Gozer is making changes to the Startfleet Academy Event to prevent griefing. Changes should be ready for the next patch.

The DOff system is great. It's engrossing and intricate and rewarding. I hope to see it expanded even more.

I also agree the dilithium system has a lot of potential. I'm confident the devs will get it to a good place. I honestly don't have a lot of problems with it now, but I think responding to the feedback it's getting will make it better.

Doff system is so far the ONLY thing truly good about F2P in its present state.

Would be interesting if Cryptic could create a whole slew of random missions for the entire game world based on all the archetypes of the Doff system.
Espionage, Diplomacy, Military, Medical, Colonization, etc etc.

I like that idea, Alexraptor! I've been hoping for something like that for a while. I'd love to be able to do mostly science and exploration missions to level up a character, or focus entirely on covert ops with an escort.

I like the doff system but I think there needs to be a better distribution of the doffs. I don't mind the dilithium change but agree that it needs to be tweaked before it can go live (sorry but you really should be able to upgrade to a basic ship of the appropriate rank w/o extra grinding). So far I've only made it to cmdr2 but I've had no trouble getting decent gear (I always redo the dividian missions for the phaser rifle and phase shifted personal shield anyway every time I rank up).

I really do think that people need to calm down a bit and let the devs do their jobs, I understand that lots of people feel let down and rightly so, this can be a great game but right now it's not. This is my first mmo so I really don't have anything to compare it to but with diablo 3 coming out soon cryptic had better shape up because I'm a lot more enthused by what little I've seen of that than whats happening here.

I'd like to thank Notion for starting this thread. I work in customer service and deal with people complaining for things they really don't need to be complaining about. So I'm always really shocked when I get a customer who calls in to thank us for getting their order to them or including free samples ect.

I am really liking the Doff system as it gives me the ability to earn xp even when I'm not in game. (I work full time).

I think one currency is a very good idea that just needs a little tweaking to make it fair.

I really like the daily events so that there is always something to do other than STF's and Explores when you've reached VA.

And some people do need to re-read the reason this thread was created and stop making left handed compliments. It's not clever.

At the risk of going against the grain here, I actually like the concept of the mission chains. Not the implementation. I really think the current implementation should branch a bit, so there is more than one and only one episode you can do at any given point, but, if it was set to a sort of chain unlocking system, where completing missions opened up new mission chains, which in turn could open up more chains, it could be something really neat. Especially given that, conceptually, the level scaling system would allow for previously higher tier mission strings, to be available much earlier, (like the Romulan or Cardassian strands).

In earlier Posts of the forum, players had issues with "Doing Missions Out of Sequence" and having to work around having reached one point before they were supposed to.

Then Too, there was the Ages Old "Hunt of the Galaxy Map", to find the destinations for the individual missions.

Now, the Missions are Lock Stepped, can Not be done Out of Proper sequence, and, there is the ADDED Bonus, of the *Warp Button being placed on the Mission List. (*A Better Time Saver, I have not seen yet in this game than that one feature)

The only things i like is the doff system and so far, the Ship changes, the only thing that would make doffs better is a vendor for COMMON doffs. Waiting days for new ones is... well this is the positive thread so I'll leave it at that.

The leveling pace is accelerated on Tribble intentionally; they want us to be able to test as much as possible; I wouldn't expect that same pace when the Tribble build makes its way to Holodeck.

Now to get back on topic; I really like the Duty Officer system. I think it's going to renew a lot of interest in the game, even though it is slow paced.

I already find myself eager to log back into the game the next day, or even later the same day, to collect my rewards from a completed assignment.
