Is there a way to see DOFF buffs in action?

I have an engineer that gives a bonus to EJP. I've another that buffs DEM. How do I know these are working? Where can I see them in action? Do I get the bonus when they're on the roster? How about when they're in a mission?

Trying to get a feel for how the buffs work, but I don't know how to SEE them working.
