The Real Issue with Dilithium

I think my biggest problem is that dilithium was originally sold to us by the devs as a way to combine Marks/Emblems/etc. that were used to buy uncommon/rare/very rare gear, STF gear, and C-Store ships via an in-game method and that everything you currently buy with Energy Credits would stay the same (ie, basic, non-c-store ships). I'm pretty sure that this is the root of all the comments we are seeing on the forum right now. What was balanced (for the most part) in live, has been changed in a way that we were told wouldn't happen. Instead of simply combining all those currencies, they also decided to change what currency buys what and suddenly the entire game economy is threatened and the balance (although inflated) that we had on holodeck is gone.

So why the sudden change? Well, to be brutally honest, it does look like you are purposefully trying to drive people to the c-store instead of actually playing the game. I'm sorry, but I don't want a game where people can put very little time into the game and end up with better "stuff" than I can playing 2x-4x more. I really do want to believe that this isn't the case, but sometimes you just have to give up trying to give the benefit of the doubt and say that the sky is blue.

At least to me and the others, the solution is simple. Give us a free ship plaque/token at promotions and put the basic ships back to the way they were as purchasable with Energy Credits (heck, even raise the EC cost if you want). Leave the "special" gear as using dilithium, and add a way to use dilithium to buy c-store ships (you can make it "expensive" if you want, just put in the mechanism and then give people the choice).

PS - I apologize for starting yet another thread, but from what I've seen, 25+ pages of posts is a real turn-off for people to read every post.
