Gorn Minefield - Excessive Spawn Rate

So I started a five man run of the Gorn Minefield today. I'm flying a Connie, and everyone was LTC. rank. What we found was that the number of frigates that spawned was completely excessive. It was next to impossible to complete the first part of the mission without gamey tactics. Sadly the spawn rate for Cruisers was just as high and that spelled the end of our run.

Is this isolated to me? Is anyone else finding the spawn rate on Gorn Minefield out of whack?

    It is like this on the live server also. I only do this mission when we are 10 strong.
