Marauder Patrol Cruiser - Worth it?

Hi there,

My Klingon Captain is about to hit LG, and I'm trying to pick suitable ship for him.

He is an Engineer, so naturally I'm looking at the heavy ships, and I'm curious as to everyone's opinion of the Marauder Patrol Cruiser. Is it worth it, or should I rethink this choice?

Opinions? Anyone?

    I'm curious as well, especially as my captain is an Orion.

    It's a decent cruiser, equivalent to the Fed Star Cruiser if I remember correctly.

    Though it will be changed into a single-bay carrier fairly soon, from what I hear.

    Are they adding a bay to it because the only ships you get for it atm are the ones on the special you can all in...

    It's a decent cruiser, good officer layout and weapon loadout.
    if you use your free ship token at Lt Gen, it's defintly worth it.
    If you buy it with RL money ibn the Cstore...well...up to you if it's worth it.

    its about to become a true carrier, with at least 1 fighter bay, so its looking to be better then ever soon

    It'll be using the free token at LG, and I was weighing the pros and cons of the marauder vs. the Khar'fi carrier (i know, I spelled it wrong)

    Currently MG5, should have the ship by the weekend, looking forward to it!

    Ah, so it's going to be the equivilent of the Kar'fi Carrier; only with more Sci slots than Tactical.

    I'm torn between the orion and the blowfish, i love the look of the blowfish but I am an orion....

    I've tried it for my Klilngon engineer...It works wonderfly and is a great mirror to the Federation Star Cruiser. The fighters don't add too too much unless you want that last bit of DPS. They stack with scorpion fighters, though so you can fly a cruiser-carrier hybrid at that point.

    The Marauder is a fantastic tanking ship with a ton of healing.

    That's what I've heard, yeah.

    I'm just hoping there will be an alternate skin. I love the work Logan's done on the newer carrier designs. Wish I could use those at T5. :(

    My Tac LG uses mainly beam arrays, torpedos and mines. Typical hull and shield heals for a cruiser. Along with eject warp plasma, boarding party, beam target sheilds, tactical team.

    Has been fun, ejecting warp plasma, mines, boarding party, scorpion fighters, interceptors onto borg cubes etc and watching them die. Even better when you have shut them down completey, making all subsystems go offline.

    One of the things people tend to forget about the orion interceptors, they have a free boarding party ability. Might not give raw dps, but you get pets that can disable subsystems.

    Have not tried this build in stf. it would be interesting to find out how it works out. What weapon loadout and boff abilities, work best for the marauder in pve? Does anyone fly this ship in pvp?

    Ah, me too. The T3 and T4 orion ships look incredible. The space cow ... not so much.

    But I love the new Marauder ships it gets with being changed to a flight deck cruiser - AoE boarding party is quite nice.
