half human, half cat parts for alien gen

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I dont know if anyone will agree with me, but since Cryptic is with Perfect World now, I would like to see parts for the Alien gen where you can have a half human, half cat spiecies. I would like to be able to make that character have the cat ears and the tail. or put paws on it as well. I think it would look really cool for both female and males. Anything is possible in Star Trek, it has half human and half klingon in the lore so why not half human and half cat. i would also like to see bigger cat ear variants then the small ones the caitian have. Its 2409 now so why not have a half human half cat, for the first time to be a apart of star trek lore. Ya'll may call me crazy but i think it would look awesome

I dont think it was a Cryptic decision not to have hybrid species, but a CBS decision.

I remember a thread a while back about something similar.

im not sure what perfect world has to do with it, but i sort of agree and dont agree.

i do want more options for the alien gen so we can make cat people and lizards and just add more variety to the alien creator.

although half cat and half human just worries me. some species probably should not mix under any circumstances.

I'm down with more parts for the alien gen. The furries, scalies, slimies, and buggies should all be well represented.

If we want cat people with scales and antennae, by gosh we should get them. But I suspect CBS might disagree with me on that.

This makes me think of a guest lecture I had in Bioethics once. It was about human-animal chimerization, with stuff like animal-origin heart valves and using pig neural stem cells as a Parkinson's treatment. But all I could think about was catgirls.

And now I'm thinking about catgirls with scales and antennae.

I'm actually disappoint that there are like no reptilian features for the alien creator, that's one of the reasons I'm sticking with the Gorn on the KDF side (and maybe one of these days on the Fed side if they ever get that deal complimented)

ya I never did understand why the alien generator lacked so many options. I remember buying the cat people because I figured It would add options to the alien creator. its funny how you can make better aliens in co and cox then you can in a star trek game.

    This.

Also OP, I think Cryptic doesn't want any anime cat girl copies in sto, I know you can kind of do that already in alien gen, but I'm on Cryptic's side for this matter.

How in blazes did you furries find your way in to the 25th century? Shouldn't you have bred yourselves to extinction by now?

Perhaps they expanded their genetic pool?

To be frank why can't we? Ik that it may be not to TRIBBLE off a few people, but excuse me I'm running around as a pretty accurate representation of yoda, blatant issues on copyright there yet CBS doesn't seem to care any less. If they are going to have alien custom races then why restrict half cat-human people? I say if they won't give us freedom to choose certain customisation features, they shouldn't give us they ability to make custom aliens at all

You want them to "keep the thread clean?"

Meanwhile you just dug up a thread that's been dead for over three years.

If the date on the last post is more than 30 days, it's against forum rules to reactive it.

and for the record, everything Cryptic puts into this game has to be run past CBS. If they said no to hybrid cat aliens, don't waste your breath.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
    What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

And yet in Champions online.... (its hard to make a side for cryptic when they're on the other side in a different game.)

[dammit, didn't see how badly this was necro'ed. Anyway...]

So we don't have flying dragon mounts on Risa because CBS said so, or is it simply that no dev has bothered/been stupid enough to develop that content.

It is rather odd to default to "if CBS said no" when we don't consider that option for other content gaps, or even how that logic seems to neglect Caitians or other established hair-ball aliens throughout the movies and TV series.

the default exists because it's true.... what CBS says goes. CBS said yes to Caitians, apparently they said no to alien hybrids that look kinda Caitian.

Did they? In the previous, non-necro'd threads on this issue I've seen CBS hadn't been referenced. IP issues certainly came up with the Ferasan (See. Ringworld) but not for the more general application of cat parts. That was previously justified on the point of retaining "exclusive" c-store species parts (which is a very arguable point), not a CBS ruling (nor was one actually referenced here. Just vaguely remembered by someone back in 2011.)
