Carnosaur Sanctum - featuring Gorn and needs ratings!

I am stuck at one 3-star review with some good feedback, and have sense made the mission less tedious (less things to scan etc).
Besides, the guy reviewed it at 4:30 in the morning! lol

This is the first of at least 2 Starfleet missions with Gorn playing heavily in the plot (and my first foundry created mission). It is also primarily a survey and exploration mission with an easy puzzler in the heat of combat.

Title: Carnosaur Sanctum
ID: ST-HLW0HHC8l
Requirements: Starfleet , any level
Location: Seedea System, Pi Canis Sector block
Medium mission length (I would guess 25 - 45 minutes?)

Synopsis:
The Klingons have been very careless in their ‘alliance’ with the Gorn lately. The Gorn colony world Kasharr has been contaminated with radioactive waist due to weapons testing.

Now five hundred million Gorn colonists will begin to die in six months unless something can be done, and the Klingons have not lifted a finger to help. The Kasharran Gorn have discretely asked for the aide of Starfleet, as their planet must be evacuated.

There are a few viable planets open for resettlement, but they are all along the Federation border, and no humanoid would find them comfortable. Rumors about ancient legends run wild at a local smuggler space station – that is where you will discreetly seek out the Kasharran Gorn contact, and determine which planets to survey for Gorn resettlement.

A sequel is avidly being constructed now. This is meant to be at least a two-part story. So far, I am finding this one to pale in comparison to what is coming next.

Your play-time and feedback is welcome.

Thank you!

Well no wonder its not getting any reviews, no one can find it!

I can find it under community authored search just by typing carno ... no one else can. How strange is that? Its accessible to any level.

    *pouts*

You probably can't find it because you haven't signed up as a reviewer.

I just played it. A good mission a few minor map things such as some of the 'hives' not sitting in the ground properly because of the angle of the terrain.

Far too many mobs spawned in that area where the ruin is discovered. It may have just been me accidently triggering them by choosing the wrong options but if that's the case you should end the dialogue so you know there is something that you should be doing is. dealing with the new enemies.

and at the end when it asks you o make a choice. I went "that's not upto me, that's upto the diplomats." yet the Gorn makes you decide either way.

Some hints that the player should remember some stuff would be nice or some way to access data from the surveys would be nice.

Summation: A good, well written and unusual mission that has some interesting ideas but doesn't quite get there in it's execution. Great Gorn characterisation though the 'trust' that this particular gorn showed is a bit much.

Excellent feedback - it is sometimes so hard to keep an outside perspective when your mind is inside your own mission so much.

    .

Well the idea here is that if you do not stay near the ruin you are very likely to die - of course you may die anyway - but the respawn point puts you in a relatively safe place. Perhaps some dialog from tactical recommending that you stay 'on the platform' should be helpful.

Of course no one in their right mind would actually try to kill all the enemies....would they??

Indeed - this can be improved - it needs better 'climactic' closure where the player feels like they have accomplished somehting.

Well last night after I pulled my hair out - I think a pop up for me to review a mission myself appeared. I went to 'stop reviewing' and then resigned up to review, then suddenly people start leaving reviews.

Anyway - good storyline is what I keep hearing. This is good because other things can be fixed, but if I can't tell a story I am fracked.
"You can't fix stupid" - Ron White.

Alright I'm off to the beach for labor day...later gaters.

I really enjoyed your mission, the planetary surveys were well done and something different whilst the plot was nicely paced and engaging.

I laughed when I read the dialogue along the lines of 'Uh, that wasn't the kill power command'. :D
