I was wondering when we would see a very rare version of the nausicaan sword and possibly some orion, gorn, and lethean melee weapons. I just hope its not something way down the road where its c-store only or anything like that. I just figured since Kahless (the new one does not say anything different dependent on what race you are when you help him that you know they can forge something non-klingon there too LOL). Well I just hope in near future I can atleast get a very rare nausicaan sword and perhaps even one with bonus against borg.
Would thought this would be obvious but I thought adding a Xbox/PS2 controller interface in Season 4 would have been obvious as well for the fist person shooter option.
I'm not sure there are that many people who play with a controller.
I can understand why one would like it if they had such a device, though. That said, I have no idea how easy or hard this is to implement.
In terms of melee weapons, I'm still wishing for a d'k'tagh dagger. Maybe some day!
Oh this reminds me about something maybe a dev/gm/or whomever could probally answer this question I have. When I tried to use this Logitech dual whatever gamepad in sto. I could not really do any turning with it. Once I changed the settings to use the joystick part of the gamepad to use the mouse axis I could turn when in shooter mode but not rpg mode. The big problem I have with this is that when you do this as soon as you leave shooter mode the cursur drops down on the right hand side of the screen. Ever since have been trying to figure out a way to play it so I can enjoy the shooter mode with it, but if I do I have to unplug the gamepad every time i go back to space.
As for Melee Weapons I love the multiple KDF races but I feel only my Klingon Species characters should be using a bat'leth and theres virutally for very rares or anti borg melee weapons there is no other choice.
This is something that talked about last year on the forums and we saw a weekly episode that delt with melee weapons and arena combat. I am very happy with what they have done so far but like you I want more pistols, rifles, Heavy weapons, and of course melee weapons in fact I wouldn't be suprised if a alien from TOS comes back to feed on some of the negative violence from the Alpha Qaudrent.
But in short I think we all want more Weapons, Weapons, Weapons

Wierd thing is that I decided to try it out again and some how it works now except for the fact that sometimes if i take it out of shooter mode the camera spins and wont stop unless i put it back in shooter mode but thats better than before atleast now with the buffs and stuff binded to mostly one button I can do STF and other ground stuff with my gamepad now. I would just like to figure out how to stop the camera from moving so i can switch to rpg mode for melee mode.

I definitively agree in that it would make the species feel more unique if such weapons would be "culturally limited". Sadly, I fear this will never happen, both because there's far too few melee weapons in the game right now as well as because the game prides itself in allowing anyone to do anything. We can probably be fortunate that Starfleet players are not yet flying around in BoP's.

They are flying around in BoPs, tried out the remastered "Doomsday" mission yet?

On that note I should be thankful that my nausicaan has a rare nausicaan sword for when it hits Major General and that our kahless shard bat'leth is KDF only unlike all the crafted bat'leths fed players have. I just wish that cryptic would allow us to like combine or let KDF players have a KDF skin of the kahless shard to put on your anti borg bat'leths because it looks so much better. I'm sure with PW now that we will probally see a lot more weapons in the game but the problem or forseen problem is how much real money/cryptic tokens that it will cost us to get these weapons. If they are made at all LOL.

Nah, doesn't surprise me though. I was referring to permanent ships though - after all, now since there's clearly outdated ships (NX), non-Starfleet ships (Vulcan cruiser) and even KDF bridge officers available via the Diplomacy System, who knows what will come tomorrow. There's certainly a number of players who had requested this! :S

I'd be all for customizing weapon appearance in general (as long as the category and damage type fits, i.e. no replacing tetryon minigun with a TOS hand phaser ), for I found that I like a lot of the early arms better than the endgame ones. Mostly applies to Starfleet (all those holograms just look a bit weird), but the Bat'leth issue could be dealt with similarly!

I've long since reached a point where I'd have no issue with throwing more money at Cryptic if I could just have some more faction love, yet neither the Duras "cleavage" armour (with long skirt) nor the sleeveless vest nor the officer's coat are available and those are all iconic clothing from the Klingons. Meanwhile, Feds get more skirts and open jackets because there were still some female characters left who looked like professional officers. The irony.
Buuut the new Gorn look and these Academy uniforms are something and should not be forgotten, I guess. Not something I would have prioritized, but still cool.
I'm not sure why a change in publisher should give us any more customization, though - I too would hope that to be true, but I always thought the reason for a lack of options for the KDF would be a perceived economical risk in that the population of Klingon players is so much smaller? Of course, it stands to reason that there may simply come a day when Starfleet is quite simply "oversaturated" with additional purchases (and frankly, imho that day has already come) meaning that despite the large number of players, only few will be interested in new additions because 99% of the iconic stuff is already there, but all of this is of course just my PoV as someone looking at things from the outside, without any actual knowledge of what's going on behind the curtains.
