How did they find this, I meant seriously do new players just brainlessly dig for any random thread or is there more to it than that?
Google usually. If you google search a topic that's STO related you'll oftentimes get threads from these forums in your search results. And they'll quite often be older threads, especially if the topic itself is old and not being talked about currently.

You criticize new players for necroing old threads. But that's often times the only way they can post about some topics.
It's contradictory. And essentially a stupid pair of rules that work against each other. Either get rid of the embargo on new F2P players being unable to post new threads. Or get rid of the necro thread rule.
As it is, this will keep happening. Because of the rules. Which contradict each other.
