Bummer

A few months ago, I created a Klingon character. I spent a lot of time tweaking his appearance, getting everything just how I liked it, and then launched him into the game. I'd been playing with one of my other characters all day, so I decided I'd spent enough time in STO and didn't commence any actual gameplay with him.

Then I heard about the changes coming to the Klingons, so I decided to wait just a little longer before I began.

Yesterday was the big day - last night I went into the game, and found myself in the Klingon First City. Since I was supposed to go to the Warriors Hall, I searched everywhere for it.

EV.
REE.
WHERE.

I was feeling pretty stupid. I could see maps on STOWiki that showed the Warriors Hall as a separate area, so I knew there had to be a door. I asked in the chat channel. I ran up to everything that looked like a door all through the map, and none were what was needed. I literally spent over an hour running all around the city searching for the door that wasn't there.

Finally, I thought - "Maybe it's my character?" and quickly fired through another random Klingon alt using the defaults (good thing I had a character slot). I figured that at the very least, I'd end up someplace close to where the hall is and I would know where the door was. Sure enough - he started in the Warriors Hall. After going through the basic first mission, I was able to exit to the city and discovered the door was right near someplace I'd been looking.

So, back to my first Klingon character, and to the door to see if I'd just missed something. No, I didn't. That little glowing effect that shows a working door doesn't exist for that character. I am stranded on the outside of the Warriors Hall looking in, with a door that appears to be forever sealed against my entry.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any solution? I submitted a bug ticket, but I'm assuming at this point my character is otherwise just screwed.

If there's no way in, I guess I will have to give him a dishonorable death with the DELETE button.

So much for Sto'Vo'Kor.

to help with the costume aspect of it, go into the tailor and hit save. then use load on your new character that you just made. it should work.

i dont think there is a way in. sounds like you got caught in that limbo between switches. it should only affect brand new characters like yourself and the costume switch should solve the time spent in the tailor.

Yea I have done this, it has saved me quite a few times. It also comes in handy in Champions Online.

I'd already saved the costume... I was just hoping there might be a way to work around the issue and get into the Warriors Hall some other way.

Oh well. I've also become a lifetime member since I first created him. Maybe I'll create a Liberated Borg Klingon instead of reusing the old costume. Nothing looks as nasty as a Klingon Borg.

    Except maybe a Horta Borg.

the warriors hall was glitched at season 4 launch it's basically for brand new klingongs if you cant go back in i guess they fixed it because the glitch was trapping people who entered the warriors ahll because we arent supposed to be there i think was the explanation on TTS when we were trying to get help to get out of there if you are looking for the starter mission just go straight to the chief and get it

I was thinking it was kind of silly to make someone unable to get INTO the Warriors Hall from the outside, and a simple solution would be allow characters in, but not out until they completed that first mission.

Now it makes sense - although it sounds like they did a fast-and-dirty fix by locking everyone out, instead of a proper one, which would have been setting it to allow everyone in and out but locking the door going out against the specific character level that needs to do the mission before they leave. Obviously, it's such a specific bug that would only arise in a very precise scenario that it wasn't worth the coding time investment. I'm just relieved it actually was a bug and it wasn't that I'd completely lost my mind!

I made a new character and learned the first missions were just basically touring the city, which was kind of hilarious since I knew the city intimately from spending so much time searching for that door. I must have done those first missions in record time!
