while playing on my new Klingon, in the T'Ong nebula Borg Device hunt, you have no tricorder usage, or nothing really definable to find them easier, no Map oval circle to give you a sort of Idea where they are. Those maps really need to change. As of right now you just wonder aimlessly throughout the map.

The KDF outdoor ground maps are very buggy. Just skip them. They're not worth the time investment to try to work around the problems.
I did. Months ago. As I'm sure others had done months before that. Cryptic knows about these bugs. They just haven't fixed them yet. Not high on the priority list, I guess. That's why I recommended skipping those missions instead of trying to wade through them. But you're right, submitting more bug reports definitely won't hurt things. The problem is, they don't seem to be helping, either.
I've since now skip any ground mission that require you destroy an item on the ground, now if it's an enemy encounter those seem to work.
The 'Destroy Borg Device' missions work on indoor ground maps. Actually, indoor maps overall are better, I think because they're mostly recycled Fed maps. Just the KDF outdoor ones are troublesome.
Actually the ground scanning has actually improved somewhat, womething I noticed while working on a new kdf character. Before, when hitting the scan button it would say something like "4-6 anomalies detected" but had a problem with "sticking" to one point, once you found an anomaly the scanner would only ever point to that spot.
Now it reports the right amount of anomalies but the problem is after finding one or two objects it just refuses to lock on to anything claiming there's nothing to lock onto. I have noticed when it starts doing this it can still lock onto something, but only if you're right on top of it.
The problem I've noticed is that the tricorders only point to the destructibles when you they are kinda close to you, so on all of those "smoggy" maps they don't help very much. On that note why are so many of our ground maps covered in that yellow smog? No wonder we keep attacking other worlds, we just clean air!

When you look at the big map (the M key) there is usually, not always, but usually a trail of sorts you can see.
If you follow it, it'll lead you to all the devices. And every once in a while the tricorder will lead you to them, but only sometimes.
They have always been that way. It's actually improved, for a long time the Tricorders never worked at all for the Klingons. It took a couple updates before that was fixed.
I guess I've just gotten used to having to search a long time for items on some of the ground maps.
Being Klingon has always been more of a challenge in STO.

This! It works for both KDF and Fed ground missions where you've got a number of objectives to complete (scanning, clicking, killing, etc.)
I've never seen my tricorder point me at a destructable object like the borg machines in those missions. I always chalked it up to their being NPCs or some weird object that turns into an NPC when you get to a certain range. It reminds me of the space missions that have you blowing up derelict ships; they are non-targetable objects until you get to about 6km and then they suddenly are targetable and you can kill them.
Non-ship/captain objects in this game are weird. And the tricorders should really work better.

Yep, this. Even if you can't see the trail on the minimap, you should be able to spot it just walking around... they tend to stand out. Just follow the trail. The absolute only problem seems to be that one of the Borg Device missions kinda tosses you off the trail at the start, but you should still be able to find it relatively easily. But if you see one device, then just stick to the very obvious trail it's on and go up and down it.
And if you can't spot the super obvious trail, well... that's kinda your problem.

Edit: I forgot I got promoted lol.
